They’re actually going to give me an opportunity and this summer is going to be a big, big summer for me. I’m going to take advantage of it.”

What an weird interview, man.
I guess he tried to take some shots at us and NOLA... and then called the freakin' Nets a 'team that are on the right track'?

Weird/funny thing about Archie was he put up absolutely abysmal stats this year in the D-League. He actually seemed to regress down there, shooting like 20% from three and not efficient otherwise and had really bad defensive stats. I'm guessing that's why even garbo teams like the Knicks weren't giving him a shot. So I was surprised when the Nets finally brought him up and he played well and *gasp* efficiently. Might not be sustainable, but who knows. If he gets cut again maybe the Suns should give him a call to eventually take over for Barbosa.

Archie sounds like the Morris twins wrote all that for him.

Archie Goodwin is just a **** player with no future in the league.
Archie needs to remember there wasn't a single team in the NBA who would trade a 2021 2nd rounder for him. The Nets only signed him because they have limited young quality talent on the team and are hoping he can turn into something decent (which is unlikely)

I'm confused, wasn't the story out of camp that Archie and his agent requested to be released so he could find playing time somewhere instead of being stuck in our rotation..?

Regardless, for someone talking about growing through the past year, Archie sure likes to put blame on everyone but himself. Talking about how now he's "actually getting an opportunity" and "seeing the differences in teams on the right track" like he thinks he nailed shot at starting while everyone was hurt last year and like the Nets aren't a garbage franchise that's stockpiling athletic castaways so they can pray one of them turns into a basketball player. Lose the sense of entitlement Archie, there's a reason only bottom of the barrel teams are giving you a shot, and it's not because they think you were underutilized in Phoenix.

Y'all need to let Archie's comments roll off your backs. He's telling himself what he needs to in order to maintain his confidence and enthusiasm. It's not a reflection on us; no one cares what Archie thinks of us. In games, Archie didn't do what he was told. He didn't evolve as a defender, a shooter or ballhandler - and at this point, it's unlikely he'll ever take that next step. DJJ is already light years ahead of Archie in every respect.

He will still have a hard time getting much playing time, even on that team, being far down the rotation. He's listed as the 4th shooting guard and can't shoot. As long as they have Lin, Didwiddie and Kilpatrick he will be behind them, and especially if LeVert ever plays the 2 he is further back. Luckily for him, Foye, Whitehead and KJ McDaniels can't shoot either though and Foye will likely be gone.

I'm sure they will take another swing at some free agents this summer too trying to give out huge deals being so far under the cap, like $37 million or something.

Yup he's going to be a spot minute guy at best unless he makes some major improvements, which I don't expect considering he's nearly the same player he was when he came into the league.

I definitely expect them to throw some big contracts out at RFAs like Otto Porter and KCP. I doubt that teams don't match, but the Nets will definitely be trying to throw some money at young guys and hope it sticks.
