Embiid the cops are standing on a higher point on the road. You can see the road slopes down
Because of depth perception you need to calculate the angular size to work out exactly how tall Simmons is.... and the problem with that is you need to know exactly how far away the camera was at the time it took the photo.
By an amazing coincidence... if you use a ruler in the photo Simmons and Embiid appear exactly the same size.... 600 units of the ruler. That would normally make working out Angular size a lot easier as you already know that both objects overlaying each other are the exact same height. Think comparing the size of a tennis ball to the moon in a photo... and having the tennis ball and moon be the exact same size in the photo... ideal situation.
Unfortunately though at the end of the day unless you how far away the camera was at the time the picture was taken... it's just a guess. All the photo really tells us is he is definitely not 7ft 2.
7 foot though is not out of the realms of possibility.. given the distance between where Simmons and Embiid are standing is a bit over a shoe size difference... so maybe 16 inches. The camera also doesn't look that far away as well so Simmons isn't going to be shrinking that much in height in the photo.
If I was to take a guess I would say he would be closer to 6ft 11 than 7ft.
I like where your head is on trying to figure this out, but wouldn't it be nice if the Sixers just measured them both barefoot? Lol
We are left to try to calculate it, as if a five dollar measuring tape couldn't solve the mystery in a minute.

The right choice. I'm glad it isn't Scott O'Neil. If it was, we'd somehow end up no picks even though that's impossible.

Exactly the right choice.
Remember when Croce was told not to leave his seat, but then stood up anyway and started high fiving everyone when we won the lottery?
I would love to see Joel's reaction.

Bad choice. The guy who should represent the Sixers is the process...the real process. Okafor. As 76ciology says...what if I told you Okafor is the process. Lol. I love that. I always laugh at that.

Embiid was always the obvious choice to represent us at the lotto, but then again we had some pretty good luck with BB last year. I say if it ain't broke then why fix it?

Embiid is like the most feel good player to represent us if we don't end up in the top 3. Because it will remind the fanbase that we already have a superstar.
And yet he's the most feel good, imagine him and another number 1 pick.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Believe me.. I know that. But I didn't want to post it because I don't like when the other teams' fans complain about super teams and the lack of parity in the league.

Next year should be exciting. We will have a few young stars learning together. Most of the time, great players don't get a chance to play with each other until they get older. Hopefully, everyone will stay healthy.

Super teams via smart drafting and trading isn't as bad. You aren't guaranteed anything... look at Noel and Okafor.
Teams that are already good and are having superstars join to try and create a super team... that's not earning it.
It would be nice if the NBA just had a hard salary cap for all teams rather than luxury tax which just allows clubs to buy their way to Championships.

I believe in inequality, evolution and unfairness of life.
I like the Superteams and watching the Cavs and the Warriors play.
I watch the game more because of wanting to see how the game evolves than wanting to see super competitive games. I think too much parity will lead to stagnation.
Who's to say we are the good guys in rebuilding when you ask teams like the Magic and they'd say that the tanking we did was "bad'.
Who's to say GSW did was unfair when they were like a lotto team for like a decade and finding the right strategy to counter the bigs.
Who's to say super teams is bad when Lakers introduced the big 2, Celtics introduced the big 3, Heat introduced the small ball and Warriors is now introducing the big 4. To some extent, superteams lead teams to find new ways to explore the game.
I think right, wrong, what's earned or not is really relative to point of view.

The Warriors signed Durant with cap space. The soft cap is less to blame than the once in a generation cap explosion that resulted in The max contracts that Klay and Green got becoming much smaller than the maxes that can be given out now.

Re: Joel Embiid -- The Process is now Live
I will not be happy at all with Brett Brown if Embiid is playing anything close to the way he did last year, once we have Simmons and a lot more talent coming in.
Even though he was very good at it for his size and experience level, I cringed every time Embiid faced up from 20 feet.
Even if he can do it well, that should not be his game. Put the giant close to the hoop.

I'm so excited. If BC doesn't **** this up, we could really make a huge leap towards play off basketball.
