A Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo
Just a hypothetical question:
Which player or players from your team are you willing to give to get Giannis Antetokounmpo in your team next season?
i just want to see how much value Giannis has now in the eyes of the other fans.

You could have anybody but KAT. I'd even throw a 1st with wiggins probably.

Re: A Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo
My Mavs have no assets to pull off such a trade, but I have a question for Celtics fans. Would you be willing to give up the BOTH the 2017 and 2018 Brooklyn picks for him? Forget for a moment that the Bucks may not do it even with that package. If you are willing to give up both picks, would you be willing to give up even more? If so, where is the limit? Just curious.
And just to make it fun. Bucks fans, would you trade Giannis for a 2017/2018 pick, Jaylen Brown package? If not, how about if they add another future first? I know, I know, the Celtics would never do that, but with that question, I want to know what Bucks think an unrefusable (if that's a word) offer would look like.

All of BRK picks, some of our 1st picks, DAL picks, Clippers pick, Memphis pick... Jaylen Brown... uh all the available assets pretty much. Giannis will become the best player in the league at his prime imo. You do whatever it takes to get that kind of a player.

It would be an inbalanced trade in every possible scenario 1 - 1

Some loose change like two top 5 picks in 2017 draft or maybe add 2019 unprotected kings pick, Saric and Okafor just to make it more challenging.

So you would pretty much give them anything they want. Not sure I agree. This year's draft could be legendary, and next year's draft looks to be very strong as well. Giannis is obviously amazing, but you would have two chances to find the next dominant guy, in two strong drafts. Not sure I would be willing to give that up, especially with another high potential asset going out.

We already know what Giannis is going to become. People are valuing these picks way too high. Yeah they're up there when it comes to valuable assets, but the keyword is "chance". I'd rather bank my future on Giannis than bank on a "potential" legendary draft class. To me Giannis is more valuable. We heard about all these "legendary" draft classes since 2003 and never once has it happen yet...

I think these packages would be around where it gets interesting.
1) Boston: 17 Brooklyn, 18 Brooklyn, Jaylen Brown, any other choice (e.g. IT, Bradley, Smart, any other picks) that the Bucks want
2) Sixers: 17 Sixers, 17 Lakers/18 Lakers, 19 Kings pick, Ben Simmons

Basically, to part with Giannis, you need to be getting 4 high level assets in the hopes that one of them pans out as much as Giannis or the aggregation pans out as much as Giannis.

The problem with quantity over quality is that even if you hit on quantity, there is a very good chance that you would get a mediocre core. For example, let's say you trade 4 lottery picks for Giannis and you get the next Bradley Beal, Otto Porter, Aaron Gordon, and Jahil Okafor. One would say that this might be one of the better case scenarios with 3 legit players and perhaps only one bust. However, these guys are just good enough to get the max but not good enough to be the #1 options on a team. So then, your next decade, you have a core of Beal, Porter, and Gordon as your 3 max players. That is a team that will be eliminated in the 1st round and at best 2nd round team. So is that what you want? I will rather roll my dice on the one sure thing in Giannis because I have a true max and I also have the cap room to essentially sign guys like Porter, Beal, and Gordon.
So overall, if you are trading Giannis, you are doing it in the hopes of getting someone better than Giannis. And that is just unlikely.

Re: A Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo
Everyone except for Jokic.
Giannis is really the most valuable player in the league (Leonard is the second and Jokic/Kat are thirds) in a trade scenario.

But then, why wouldn't you give up Jokic if Giannis is more valuable?

1) Jokic already knows denver's other young and proves to be effective with them,
2) Jokic next summer will sign a 5 years contract (surely, he "only" earn 3 million so far, he seeks a max contract) so at least another 6 years to build a championship team around him, while Giannis has a 4 years contract: 2 less years.
3) We just figured out that Jokic is denver's building foundation: it make no sense trade him after this 6 months wuold be like a new start
4) Milwalkee wuoldn't accept a 1-1 trade and they wuold require other players/picks

Re: RE: Re: A Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo
Literally any of our assets is available for the taking. Combo of Russell, Ingram and our firsts.
Though I must say that I don't agree with the notion that he is the most valuable trade piece out there. If a third party proposes a Lebron/Giannis trade who hangs up first? I think we all know the answer.
Thanks to NBA 2k17 my association mode, I was able to see it happening!
