With the 1st I would take Jackson/Ball/Isaac (in that order as of now).

With the WAS 1st I would hope for Ferguson/Justin Jackson/Bacon (in no particular order at this time).

With the 2nd (if LAL misses out on their 1st) I would target one of Hart/Brooks/Thornwell/Trier/Iwundo/Blossomgame (again, in no particular order at this time).

Huh? Where/how did we get Was first from?

He obviously meant Houston...

As for the picks, if we lose out on the top 3 pick, I think we go for a homerun/strikeout shot. I say we pick up the BPA and with one of them try for Harry Giles if he falls down to us.

Ii we get the top 3 pick, The top 3 are Fultz, Ball and Jackson in most predictions but I really wish we somehow trade down/go after DSJ. I think he might have the highest ceiling with his explosive play even though the smallest of the 3 guards.

That makes sense, tho not obvious to me. I thought I must have missed something

I really have a good feeling for Ball. Big, pass-first guy who can get to the rim. Needs to work on his shot, but a good defender with reach. Just seems like the right guy

But won't be unhappy with any of the three top guys - love JJackson's game

I feel you here, except that Ball is not much of a "get to the rim" player, IMO.

Another lottery pick that might fall into late first or second round is Xavier's PG, Edmond Sumner.

6'5"
6'8" wingspan

Sumner is explosive, good vision, high level defender at 6'5" pg. He would have been a lottery pick but suffered a season ending ACL injury this year. If we miss on the top 3 pick, I wouldnt mind using our second round pick for Sumner.

Come on All Hail. "If we miss on the top 3 pick... "

Also, I would love to buy a pick from Boston or Philly. They both have 3 second round draft picks. Both Boston and Philly do not have the roster to add a first rounder plus 3 second rounders. They would be using the pick to add players for a tryout and would be better trading the pick for $1.5 million or whatever the going price is for a second rounder now.

There are a few guys that the Lakers are working out that we might get as a summer tryout or a late 2nd rounder. Jacob Wiley is projected outside of the 2nd round. Due dilligence by the FO.

Next up is all 7'6" of Tacko Falls. TF makes Magic look like a midget. TF is possibly a late 2nd rounder or outside of the 2nd round.

Another workout with Lakers...

5'11" PG, DeWayne Russell from Grand Canyon
21ppg/3.8rpg/5.4apg plus 1.5 steals pg
Shot almost 40% from 3 point range averaging almost 5 attempts per game.

As a potential Houston pick and/or a second round pick, here is Thomas Bryant...

;t=249s

6'10"
7'6" Wingspan
73% FT shooter
38% 3 point shooter

He runs the floor and hustles on defense, diving for loose balls. He could be a stretch 4/5 with his 3 point shooting potential. BT is only 19 years old too. He could be a real steal in the late 1st or early 2nd round.

Devin Robinson. You draft Devin Robinson and our SF position (Ingram/Robinson) will be locked down for years to come.

I remember watching him destroy UTC on the glass and thinking "that guy is going to be an NBA player". I'd be more than happy with him in the second round.

Jordan Bell's combine numbers were pretty nuts. 37 inch vert, second in lane agility. Crazy for a power forward. His stock definitely rose. Average wingspan tho which kind of worries me.

Also Hamidou Diallo with a 44.5 inch vert, second highest ever at the combine.

Another guy that has been rising up the draft boards because of the combine is Frank Jackson. He seems like the athletic type that could be molded into a PG provided we are patient enough to develop him.

Interesting that Jordan Bell is testing high on athletic metrics and he seems to have a pretty high basketball iq. The only problem is that we have too many PFs on the roster.

Are there any wingers (3&D types) in the late first round that we can get?

You're sleeping on Ntilikina (I learned pronounced "tee-lee-kee-nah").

If he had played at Duke last year, meaning more people saw him, he'd be ranked above Ball.

TyCobb has him ranked as the second best PG in this draft (next to Ball). I have him as the best PG for the Lakers -- above Fultz, Ball, and Fox.

He's long as hell (6.5 w/a 7 feet wingspan), plays beautifully committed defense, shoots with precision, and runs an offense with poise.

His issues (ironically, like Ball) are consistent offensive aggression and a questionable first step (although I think this may be overstated though).
