The ringer did a great mock draft with a lot of detail.

Re: Snapbacks and Handshakes: The 2017 Draft (Raps pick #23)
Post-Combine Board:
Tier 1 - Unlikely to be available, but must draft
1. OG Anunoby
2. Donovan Mitchell
I think Anunoby has the higher ceiling, but Mitchell has an incredibly high floor. Amazing athlete, great shooter, and elite defender.
Tier 2 - My favourite players in our range
3. Semi Ojeleye
4. Jonathan Jeanne
5. Hamidou Diallo
These have all been, at one time or another, projected to go in the second round. Come draft night, however, I expect all three to go in the mid-20s. Ojeleye has the best blend of size and talent, Diallo is the best athlete and has the most upside as a wing, and Jeanne has the flashes of Rudy Gobert that make him an exciting prospect.
Tier 3 - Great prospects (just not my favourites)
6. Jawun Evans
7. Thomas Bryant
8. Caleb Swanigan
Tier 4 - I would understand
9. Terrance Ferguson
10. Harry Giles
Not too high on the international prospects in our range, but I have less familiarity with them overall.

This is actually really good.
I wasn't expecting so much detail for all 60 players.
The top 15 or so seems unanimous among most draft boards but the guys in the 20s and early second keep moving around

Awesome web design and nice variation on Draft Express. They link us at 23 to Hartenstein, Evans, Ferguson and Jeanne. Evans is really the only player of that group that wows me as he attacks the basket and is a good distributor. He sort of resembles Lowry in style of game and motor department.

Poeltl was the consensus pick on most mocks.
Siakam went a few spots earlier than expected, but was not some huge unknown like Bruno.
The last WTF pick was Bruno. They do happen and they've happened too often with this franchise, but Masai has been picking safe and predictable of late. I guess that could change as the team is stuck in a treadmill(a high end one, but still they've reached their ceiling), so he may be willing to gamble. I don't expect another shocker though. At most, someone ranked 5-10 spots below their ranking in most mocks.
I think some of that "shock" often comes from Masai not picking the two or three prospects available at our pick that had gathered a bit of consensus appeal. Like, how we passed on Skal twice. Or passed on Portis, Hood and Capela. Once you get past a certain point in the draft things really open up and it becomes much harder to predict.

For sure. I only managed to call the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th picks last year. I think everyone managed to get those right. After that, I didn't know what the hell was happening. I had Korkmaz and Luwawu in the running for our pick and they got taken just before we grabbed Siakam. Guys get taken 10 picks away from where we think all the time.

Re: Snapbacks and Handshakes: The 2017 Draft (Raps pick #23)
Lets draft Hamiduo Diallo if we can land a second pick between 20-40.
Also looking at #23 on the ringer, they chose that solely because of Masai's tendency to swing for the fences. Made me laugh when I saw it.

Frankly, I'd trade Cojo for a pick to take a flyer on Diallo. That may seem like selling low, but we need cap space since Masai will be spending a lot to keep our free agents next year. We have Delon and FVV for the 2nd and 3rd point guard spots anyway.

This might be the year the Raps actually move up, or acquire another 1st rd pick.

I'd love to trade Joseph for another pick
I want us to take Diallo but at the same time I expect a ready now player in the mold of guys like Powell and Delon so it would be good to have 2. But its very unlikely.
I really wish the draft happened after free agency cause I don't see Masai trading Joseph because he needs him as insurance in case Lowry leaves

Re: Snapbacks and Handshakes: The 2017 Draft (Raps pick #23)
I really think this pick is getting traded. We have too many prospects. Whoever we draft would be on the dleague team or a 3rd stringer. Plus we need to unload Demarre and we would probably have to ship the pick with him.

I think the opposite we might downgrade the pick but we are gonna have a pick. Especially based on what Masai said about internal development and how the new CBA makes it hard to get new players.

Yeah, I could see that.
Carroll + #23 to Sacramento for #34 makes some sense.

Depending on who's still on the board, that may not be bad at all. I don't think anyone in the 20+ really set themselves apart from the pack anyway.

I "called" Wright and Poetl but only because I thought they were no brainers. Totally surprised me that Masai went that route. Going to be way off this year guaranteed.
I like Diallo and Giles for star/upside potential.
I like Evans speed and agility game especially if we know-conclude KL is a deathstar overpay.
I like TJ Leaf as shooting offence off the bench. Don't like the Troy Murphy comparison at all.
I like Sindarius Thornwell with a second acquired pick.
I like the active hands and motor of Wilson.
