Jackson is going to be a beast. Without the circus.

Listening to the Vertical podcast with Woj & DraftExpress guys, apparently Pelinka was recruiting Fultz heavily to join his agency before he got the Lakers GM job.

Is there really a huge Ball hype train coming from the Lakers or is it all lavar, media, and fan hype?

Jackson seems like the right pick at #2 and Ball gets taken at #5 to play next to Buddy in Sacramento. Atleast Ball is playing somewhere in California.

I sort of agree with this, I can see people passing on Ball. I don't see him game translating that well in the NBA. I think Rob and Luke see the same thing, now we just need to convince Magic.

First it's wishful thinking that Boston would take Ball, Fultz is clearly the best player in the draft and Boston has indicated as much.

Second a lot of this Ball hype is coming from Lavar and the fact that he's native to the area. I would hope that our front office isn't enamoured by the hype(created by Lavar) and would have some type of plan to keep Lavar in check because you can't divorce him from Lonzo and you risk becoming a circus like the Knicks.

The better move might be draft Jackson, hire a dedicated shooting coach and pray to God he can develop a consistent outside shot because everything else he beings to the table is gravy.

at 28th, even though he's projected at 24, why not go for Jeane if he falls. I think his potential on defense is immense, even if he sucks offensively. 4BPG and his rebounding is also off the charts. Maybe another Gobert at the end of the first. Between him and Zubac we'd be winning

Man give me a break about the damn pace, the team played at the fastest pace this year since D'Antoni and both the offense and defense still stunk. The problem really isn't that the pace is too slow - the transition defense stinks, half court defense kind of stinks, half court offense definitely stinks and the young guys can't stop turning it over. None of that is going to be solved by jacking up the pace even further.

I take Ball without hesitation. He is amazing floor general at such a young age. You guys have a lot of young underperforming talent at the moment. Lonzo is also gonna help elevate all their games as well more than anyone else you could take with that pick.

My guess is Fox kills Ball head to head... But Ball is all about the intangibles. Not sure a head to head workout really tells you anything in this case... Maybe just if Ball can keep it close enough to allow his intangibles carry him over.

We were still 6th in the league in terms of pace so its not comparable to last season but its relative to what other teams play at. For example we are closer to league average pace than to the league leaders, the Rockets.

The quality of possessions will ofcourse increase with talent and when you add Ball, who basically forces transition offense at a high PPP, that's something that Luke would likely love.

Luke won't love how quickly his guards give up points though with a Ball/Russell backcourt.

I don't care if you agree with me or not, you've made it quite clear to me that you've never played a lick of reputable competitive basketball in your life. Therefore, I rescind my statement.

Ball/Russell will be the GOAT defensive backcourt.
