Deal with Philly
Hi guys. I was just thinking about something and wanted input from you guys. We currently stand and 3 and you guys at 6. We really need a shooter and I believe you guys need a three. I don't know your team extremely well, so I apologize if I am off in any way. So here is my thought/question:
Sact and Phx both need 3's which would mean you guys need to get in front of atleast one of them to draft either Jackson or Tatem. We would be able to trade with you guys and still target monk/Smith Jr at six. Is there a deal to be made? If so what would be the deal you guys could see happening. Would a swap of picks and your next years pick top 3 protected be fair? Is there a player that we could use from your squad that would entice us to swap picks. Not trying to ruffle feathers, just seems like a deal can be made that helps both teams.

Re: Deal with Philly
How about 6 and 33 or 3? You guys have four 2nd round picks, with this trade you would have 6 and five 2nd round picks, 33(from us), 36, 39, 46, and 50. Maybe you guys could then flip 33, 36, 39 and a player to move back up into the bottom of round 1?
I'd kind of like to hold on to our 25 pick. Maybe 6, 33 and Fournier/Vucevic for 3 and Covington?

Re: Deal with Philly
I would really like to grab Jackson, but I'm not sure there's a deal both sides would agree to. Future picks are off the table as I expect us to be pretty bad next year.
Does 6 + one of Vucevic/Fournier move the needle at all for you guys? Otherwise, we can just sit tight and draft one of DSJ/Fox or Tatum/Isaac

Re: Deal with Philly
I would probably say yes to 6 plus Fornier.. We have no use for Vuc. He was one of my guys though lol Don't think we go for any more seconds in this years draft. 6 and 25 may work but I'm positive a 6 for Fournier would probably get it done.

Top 3 protected we might as well hand you the pick unprotected because Magic would do everything possible to win just enough games to come 4th.. I would be hesitant but not totally against including Fournier in an offer, are we comfortable enough in what Ross has shown last half of the year?
If anything Magic will most likely stay at 6 and try to move up from 25..
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Understood on my end. Just asking to see if there may be a deal in you guys opinion.

Re: Deal with Philly
6 + Fournier seems like an overpay, but if Lloyd were convinced that Jackson/Tatum were superstars and going to be much better than anyone available at 6, then I'd make that move.
I mean, I wish we'd traded Vuc, Fournier or Oladipo to move up to #4 to take Porzingis, so I'd want to stand by that 20/20 retrospection on this case, too.
But, what about 6 + Ross?

Wouldn't you rather get Fournier's 4 year deal at $17 million per off the books? If I had the choice I'd rather keep Ross at 10 million for 2 years.

You can't do that. Salaries don't allow you to dump that much money for nothing as far as i know. You would have to take Henderson back in that type of deal.

I think you can as long as the other team receiving the salary has enough cap.

I a huge Josh Jackson fan but his offensive woes scare the crap out of me. Our current group is already one of the worse offensive teams in the NBA. Adding a developing offense rookie along with also developing shooter AG and a PG that can't shoot? We're going to be last in the offense again. We need to reserve all the offense(Fournier, Meeks, Vuc, Mario) that we can.
If we were to do lets say the 6th + 25th + Mario for the 3rd and maybe a second, then we have to go into free agency looking for a PG that can shoot and a bench that can score.
I know Philly needs shooters too and Monk would be a good fit. You guys have a long roster with Simmons, Embiid, Cov, and Saric. Already stacked with forwards to adding Jackson would just crowd that up imo.

Re: Deal with Philly
I do not think Fournier and #6 would get it done.
It's very pricey to trade up.
A more likely scenario is The Magic using #33 and/or #35 to move up from #25. I can see that getting them a few spots to make sure they get a player they like.
I do expect a player like Fox or Tatum to be available at #6 although there are other players in this Draft who are candidates for that pick. I think this Draft will have a lot of busted mocks at the top.

so you are asking for our #6 this year and top-3 protected pick next year for #3? so give up a 1st rounder to move up 3 spots?
would rather just sit at #6 and take BPA
