Yes he's good to go. Summons thinks he's too good to play in Summer League and doesn't want to play. He hasn't said that but that's what I believe.

Because it's SL.

Simmons has nothing whatsoever to prove in summer league.

I would rather watch Simmons in pre-season games with Embiid instead of watching him in Summer League with a bunch of players who will not even make the NBA.

Found this video interesting. A good breakdown of Simmons shot. Most of the issues seem very fixable and quickly.

Shooting hand is too upright, stiff and straight.

That video won't help Simmons. Simmons will tell you he can shoot anyway. Lol. Simmons should do like Embiid and just watch white people shoot on YouTube and he will be fine. Lol.

I've been flipping through these full SL games some Thai guy put up:

Pretty cool to be reminded of how effortless Simmon's creation is. He makes plenty of mistakes with his timing and his teammates biff a lot of easy looks, but any time down the court he can get people shots in like 4 or 5 seconds. Wouldn't be surprised if he has some 20 assist games this season. (And some 10 turnover ones too).

Form is only part of the equation for shooters. Obviously if Simmons fixes some mechanical things, his shot can improve, but what truly makes one a great or good NBA shooter is an innate sense of accuracy and touch. Some people are just born with better judgement skills in that regard. Hope Simmons has it.

I don't think he is a natural shooter the way Embiid or Porzingis are. His form looks pretty clean to me though. He has a slower release, and he can be sloppy, but he has basic touch.

I think that he needs to build his confidence in his shot more than anything else.

I think his touch is actually quite good. You watch him when he is around the basket those right handed hook shots are sweet and all net almost every time... so he obviously has good shooting touch.

He has just never grown up taking jump shots like most kids do. Hopefully with time he can translate that to jump shooting. I think the talent is there.

What do you mean he didn't take jump shots like most kids do? Everyone worldwide knows how to shoot. They don't shoot differently in Australia.

Im not so confident with touch around the basket, but certainly has tools to be a very good finisher around the rim. Seems to me that he settles too much with his right hand around the rim.

his right hand is the reason why he has touch around the rim. his shooting hand (left) is too mechanical
