I've informally called that the "Dwyane Wade test" for prospects, at least the first part. Guys that can be on pace to average that 20/5/5 with decent efficiency plus some block/steal rates are good bets to go places.

its actually a really great system/test. i like it.

Eventually we can replace the name. :D

Fultz is a freak. I was watching some Fultz highlights and he chases down players and pins the ball on the glass like LeBron.
Handsome.

The assertion that Fultz plays no defense is false. That he wouldn't be a good offensive player. Not true etc. How can you see a player run across the court, block , pass , dunks, can hit the three or pins the ball on the glass etc, and say he plays no defense, and his offense is not good enough.

Just say you have a preference when it comes to players you want the celtics to select, but don't discredit Markelle Fultz as a player.

Who said his offense wasn't good?

Point them out

I see you guys are stacked with 2nd round picks. Im curious on your guys thoughts on packaging some of those up and maybe a player to trade back up into the 1st round. There are a good amount of bigs that will probably go 15-30 and could be some intriguing prospects that could maybe help you guys out. You have guys like Ike, Jarrett Allen, John Collins, Jonathan Jeanne, Giles and Bam. I think all those guys could be intriguing prospects for you. I think giving a guy like Rozier up with a 2nd rounder or so could bounce you guys up in range to land one of these guys.

Not interested in giving up Rozier but I'm all for trying to package lesser assets to move back into the late first. Unfortunately two of our seconds are in the 50's so they are glorified scratch tickets. I'm all for burning one on a freak like taco falls and I'd imagine at least one is a euro stash. The ideal scenario is Jeanne falls to 37 and we nab him but I find that less likely post combine.

I hope we get Fultz for one (not only) selfish reason, to prove my point about needing a backup PG (to start), someone to help us not be so reliant on it4 and also if it4 is out for any reason. I say it often but I think that is a MAJOR need for us.

I think if we could package Rozier and all of our seconds for a first in that range, we'd have to do it. Giles screams the type of high upside gamble Ainge loves to make.

What's your read on him? I watched a good amount of Duke games, and he looked pretty cooked. His vert at the combine was underwhelming as well. I'm trying to balance everything with the fact that he went from last playing as a junior in high school prior to this year, but I'm worried he'll be another Leon Powe who will be a useful bench big before ultimately suffering the next injury.

IT has to know that taking the first pick is the best thing for the Celtics franchise, if not necessarily the best for him. Nice to see him reaching out.

I just thought of Rozier because he probably has the most trade value for your bench guys and with the addition of Fultz, Im not sure where gets minutes. Fultz/IT/Bradley/Smart is a heck of a guard rotation. I just thought you guys are in kind of a desperate need to find some legit big men, from the outside looking in Id give Rozier up and a 2nd or a couple of them to get a big with some solid potential, especially a guy like Ike.

any1 know if we can get the pick back from bkn after the swap? I doubt it, but in some world where it could happen and they would work with us :D , I would offer them all of our 2nds for "their :D " pick. They need more players than we do, they need a lot of swings at bat. We don't need all these 2nd round picks for a while. If we see a big falling that we like.

Rozier needs to stay because Smart and Bradley are due for a new contract in a years time first and second, if Hayward is the target which all reports seem to confirm, the Celtics need to trade one of them to make Hayward fit under the cap. They have Zizic and Yabusele coming to boost the front court and also guys like Jordan Bell could be in play at 37 as well. A third option is finding a veteran big at the vet minimum much like Green was signed this year. Jerebko could likely be retained for that kind of money as well as guys like Bogut too

Heres the thing, he showed flashes at Duke and he also looked like Oden when he was in Miami. The vert was kind of a worry but he never had a crazy vert. Even if you go back to his crazy high school highlights you don't see crazy high vert, now it was definitely better than 32 inches though. The thing that made Giles a great athlete was his agility, I saw a ton of Giles in high school and that dude was as good of a defender out on the perimeter as he was inside. He was always kind of stiff looking but he just shifted his body so well. A really promising sign for him was his agility tests at the combine, he did pretty damn good in those, 2nd in lane agility, 6th in shuttle run and 7th in sprints for the bigs and the guys in front of him were the tiny bigs like Nigel Hayes and Lydon and Bell.

Ill say this, even hurt the dude was still a beast rebounder and has a ton of potential with his jumper. If that dude is chilling there at say 20, if I was Ainge I might would have to say bye to Rozier and a couple 2nd rounders to take a shot on him. That is a ton of potential if he can get healthy again.

Oh man, I just saw that Markelle is still 18? I have no idea how an 18 year old could be this advanced offensively.

They've already got Zizic, Yabusele, and Nader waiting in the wings along with Fultz. So they are probably stacked with rookies already for next year.

My assumption is they are going to try to get an agreement with Hayward in FA then try to entice Utah into a sign and trade. All of the smaller assets will come in handy for that, so I'm assuming those seconds are mainly for greasing trade wheels rather than for bringing in rookies.

I can imagine 1 on 1 gym battles between Fultz and Brown at 11:30 at night after practice. Just awesome
