Surely I can't be the only one irritated by that.

Freaking Celtics. Sucker the Nets into one of the worst trades in basketball history, get the #1 pick in a loaded draft yet they still won't be able to knock the Cavs and their fans down the several pegs they need to be knocked down in the Conference Finals.

It will be interesting to see what the Celtics do. Draft a PG, to add to their already strong core of guards? Not enough playing time to go around. So do you trade one of them (or even the draft pick)?

A trade would have to be coming, I'd think. I don't think they'd deal the pick though. I think dealing Bradley or Smart and trying to play Isaiah with a new draft pick is most likely.

I think a lot depends on Gordon Hayward. I'd have to believe there's at least a little bit of tampering between him and Stevens. If you know you can sign him in FA, I draft and keep Fultz, sign Hayward and shop some combination of Bradley / Smart / Crowder / '18 Brooklyn pick / whatever other assets for one more big piece.

Their backcourt is crowded, but it's also all in line to be VERY expensive very soon. For argument sake, lets say they sign Hayward they can make an offer of Jaylen Brown / Bradley / Smart / Zeller /'18 Brooklyn 1st / '19 Clippers 1st / '19 Memphis 1st for Butler and Robin Lopez (might be an overpay from Boston, but still illustrating the point) and roll out:

Lopez / Horford
Horford / Crowder
Hayward / Crowder
Butler / Fultz
IT / Fultz / Rozier

Loaded. But is it still enough to beat Lebron?

I'm hoping we draft another 2 way wing or a center who can shoot defend and rebound

Initially I didn't want him because of Ellenson but Ellenson is no where near a sure thing with his 3 point shooting as Markanen is. Markanen will give guys like Porzingis a run for his money from behind the 3.

And it's for that reason he won't be there at 12!

I think the Wolves or Mavs take him worst case Chatlotte

I think his defense and athleticism/measurements are gonna push teams away, the draft is all about potential. If the wolves pick him there defense is gonna suck even more.

Why, I think he's got a lot of defensive potential

cause he isn't gonna protect the rim and seems pretty soft he might be able to switch but on occasion that's it.

He averaged almost 2 bpg off the bench in only 17 mpg. Even at that he's just very skilled for a 7 footer with his versatility on both sides of the ball. I'm really not worried about him being a bad defender with his understanding of switching and good footwork.

Lauri Markkanen? I think you're mistaken him for someone else.

Thomas, Bradley, and Smart will all be free agents next summer. The ideal thing to do would be move one of the latter two for something before losing them for nothing but I don't think an overabundance of guards going forward is a huge problem for them.

Boston is probably better off just re-signing Thomas, drafting Fultz, and moving Rozier up into the third guard role. But they will have money to spend anyways so Smart is probably being matched as a RFA or just outright re-signed. Marcus and Terry bringing the defense with Isaiah and Markelle bringing the offense. Not bad.
