Pretty sure Fultz has to jack up his workout to not be picked. Let's see:
1. Stud PG
2. Good family
3. Will work out for Cs
4. No problem coming off the bench
5. Has no problem deferring to IT while he learns
That's just some of why the Cs will draft him outside of the best player thing.

IT might demand a trade if we don;t take this kid. He's from ITs area and also went to washington and played for the same coach on Romar.

I had a grin on my face the whole time watching this video knowing that we will pick him, such a good feeling.

Yep. I don't understand the problem. Everyone says Fultz is the clear cut number one. That's that and I doubt Danny will take anyone else.

To me Josh could be a superstar, but it seems more likely that he's a very good role player, borderline all-star, not superstar. I want Markelle.
Good assessment:

I agree that Jackson has star potential, but I think Jaylen Brown has star potential also. What would be better having Jaylen Brown and Josh Jackson or Jaylen Brown and Markelle Fultz. I give the edge to Jaylen and Markelle.

Afam wrote:The assertion that Fultz plays no defense is false. That he wouldn't be a good offensive player. Not true etc. How can you see a player run across the court, block , pass , dunks, can hit the three or pins the ball on the glass etc, and say he plays no defense, and his offense is not good enough.
Just say you have a preference when it comes to players you want the celtics to select, but don't discredit Markelle Fultz as a player.
I wish defence was just about chasedown blocks.

How much nicer will it be to see Markelle's Mum smiling in the stands next season instead of LaVar. Seems like a lovely lady.
This is hardly even fair, the rest of the league is playing checkers and Danny Ainge is playing 12-dimensional chess.

Yah, ok BC... we're taking Fultz. Nice try though.
To expound, who the hell is Jordan Schultz? The only people I will trust to break Celtics scoops over the next month are Jeff Goodman, Steve Bulpett, Chad Ford or Mark Murphy-- guys who have an established relationship with Ainge. Coincidentally, all of them have said there's no doubt it's Fultz.
This reeks of BC dropping a story to hype the guy they're likely to get. I see right through this.

If they both were guaranteed to be equivalent all star caliber players, I would take Jackson simply because we have a great backcourt already. They both fill a need - we are thin up front and would be better off if BPA was Josh who plays there. We desperately need a scorer and that is Fultz but that means one of our best players will get traded or lose PT.
So in end, just take BPA whoever it is. As great as Jackson could be, the NBA is now about making buckets and Fultz looks like the best at doing that in a draft that I have seen since Kyie Irving was picked.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

The only reasonable answer here is Fultz.
Jackson is physically gifted but he's offensively fairly limited at this point. Fultz has the potential to do it all, is tremendously gifted offensively, and has unique lateral agility that lets him get wherever he wants to go on the court.

We already have have a young, athletic, versatile SF named Jaylen Brown.
There's no point in adding Jackson. Fultz or trade it.
