I never quite joined on the Lugo sucks bandwagon, because his track record shows that he doesn't actually suck, much like Drew, who will turn it around too.

Lugo is a solid offensive shortstop, and it's finally showing. He never has played on a team with half the pressure that the Red Sox place on him. Hopefully he's getting comfortable, and that was his only issue.

Julio Lugo has hit .400/.443/.582 (61 PA) since he was benched and used as a pinchrunner.

In a month his batting average will be above .260.

If he continues this I'll be the first to admit my Lugo hating was wrong. Even if he ends up hitting around .260 on the year that's not worth the money considering he plays **** defense.

His defense has been better than advertised, he's driving in runs, and stealing bases. If it wasn't for the average and 9 million dollar contract, i might actually like the guy. Give him credit though, after a tough first half, he's on fire
