This is the situation where sac moving up killed us. A lot less chance fox or dsj drops to us. Oh well.

Monk

Disappointment though is mostly due to not getting a pg... think Monk will be good (as a sg)

I went with Frank, but I'd take Monk, even Collins to be honest.

Ditto. Tho, I still can't see Orlando taking a PG, but if they WERE to do so, DSJ would be that guy because he's a scoring PG, and scoring is what they need.

If those were the remaining to guys (the poll options I mean), I'd go (in order of preference):

    - Nikita
    - Monk
    - Markannen (2 Porzingis are better than one! :D )
    - Zach Collins (I really like this guy's game
    - Trade the Pick

Like I said above, I love Collins' game. But with that said, because we have WillyG, I'd go Markannen between the two. I can go with an unorthodox lineup of:

    - SF: Markannen
    - PF: Porzingis
    - C: WillyG

We're not competing for the next 3 years or so, so I'm not to worried about the defensive aspects, but boy can that Frontcourt:

    - score from ANYWHERE
    - is a matchup NIGHTMARE
    - Versatile as hell
    - Passing DREAM for the Triangle
    - Mobile as hell for their size!

I'd trade down with the Nuggets and select Zach and gamble to see if he's still there if that was the route I wanted to go.

if we go monk at 8 i'd hope we find a way to land jawun evans. don't think he makes it all the way to our second round.

if we could get late 1sts for lee and KO, i'd maybe take frank and then grab justin jackson and diallo.

i'll be watching the whole draft, that's for sure.

Yeah, same here. Both Philly and Orlando could use him or Tatum (badly needed offensive weapons). Suns taking Tatum over Fox is meh too, they need Defense not more Offense.

No wonder these teams are repeatedly in the Lottery. They always try and get too cute with their picks.

I'll roll the dice with Malik Monk. At least he has one sure fire NBA skill and his measurements aren't that far off from a Jamal Murray. If Monk learns to play point from time to time, it'll be a huge win. At the very least, as we've seen from Lou Williams, guys like this retain trade value.

We aren't a good team. We need players with upside. (Once Melo is traded) there is no urgency. We can be patient and allow a guy to develop. I like Monk but if you take him out of his comfort zone and ask him to do more than he's shown he can it's asking for trouble; he's an off guard. It's a special skill set to score off screens how he does. His movement off the ball to get shots is big time. But he's not a point guard. And even though we don't need the classic facilitator we still need a guy with a team first approach on offense at guard. So if this likely scenario plays out I think we have to take Franky. He scares me, I won't lie but he fits what we want/need from so many angles. Defense and not the triangle is why we lose. So offense is nice but we need guys with ability to defend and willingness to. It doesn't hurt that the kid is improving as a shooter. I think he could be a plus defender and 12 year starter on a winning team--if the other principles are on the roster.

Phil is on the clock. That first second rounder should yield us a good player too.

For a team that keeps the drama consistent, this is gonna be (another) crazy summer.
