Saw him in his d league debut, and felt the same. Looked like a shorter version of Sully. Hope I'm wrong

We'll see. Shorter Sully, in shape, with a work ethic is a nice player. Yabu makes more mistakes than Jared did - he was always a savvy player.

Yabu is way more athletic, has some ball skills attacking the basket. Other reference points might be Clarence Weatherspoon, Corliss Williamson.

He's only 19, 20 himself. Shorter Glen Davis is the worst case. But he's wide, strong, surprisingly nimble.

Best case, exceeding expectations would be a poor man's pre-injury Larry Johnson. And he's intriguing enough as a player that he'll probably hold value for trades.

He's far quicker and more explosive than Big Baby.

Don't think I'd be taking Zizic over anyone currently projected to go in the top 10, but the draft seems to fall apart after that. No idea on Yabu. Would guess anywhere from 15-45.

A physical in shape PF who shoots 3s and can drive to the rim should definitely go ahead of guys like OG Anunoby, imo. I like Anynoby, but the guy is a good athlete with freakish length, that's about it. Yabu actually has good skills for today's game. He was my guy in the past draft and I'm sticking to my guns.
Good assessment:

I've said it before, but Yabs could end up being pretty good or he could be the next Brandon Hunter. Hunter had decent ball skills, could shoot, had a great vertical leap and was a fierce rebounder in college. He couldn't put it together at NBA speed though.

I'm optimistic he becomes the next Rodney Rogers, but a bit more explosive. That would be a very nice career for Yabs. I think expecting more is a bit unrealistic.

Yeah, Rogers is another good comp. Really tough to say when Yabu is so young and untested.

Could Hunter shoot? I was at the game back in 2003ish when he grabbed a ton of boards, I remember going to Usenet, I think, and crowing about how he was the next Barkley :D

Question is, who do we pick up with the 37th, 53rd, and 56th picks

Seriously, they'll draft some senior that slides who can help us now. Probably a 4 or 5 to sign on the cheap because we might finally have roster space. the 2 late picks will be 2 overseas guys you've never heard of that wouldn't make our roster for 3-4 years if ever.

I say trade all that **** for shot-in-the-dark future picks. We don't need them now; keep this overabundance rolling Patriots-style.

Harry Giles at 37? I also like 37 and 56 for some future top 20 protected pick from the warriors or something.

Plus, Big Baby had fairly short arms. Yabusele has really long arms. Also unlike Baby, Yabusele has a very good 3 point shot, which probably will be the key to his success or failure (along with learning defense).

Giles only drops to 37 if his knees are so bad he's not worth taking. He is the sleeper of the draft if healthy. Probably winds up in f*cking San Antonio.

And he's got a three point shot. So a short Glen Davis that can hit 3's...

He's 6'8". I know BB is listed 6'9", but if he was more than 6-6 I'll eat my hat.

Unlike Lonzo Ball who only wants to play for the Lakers. Go play for the Lakers. Pass.
