What about Grant, Jones and Singler for Anderson and Hawes (exp)? I get a couple young players while you get a young back up SF. Then we are basically swapping bad deals. Hawes is a bit more this season (6MM vs. 4.66MM) but you get out of paying him the following year. And if I'm right, you could use another C your roster while Singler replaces Anderson as my 3rd SF. Seems like it balances out both of our rosters while keeping the money even for this season (I believe your payroll drops about $61K).

If Jones is going out I'd need one of your seconds. Then I'll have to do the math and make sure this keeps my FA plans in play. I don't want to do the math for no reason, so let me know if that sounds okay to you then I'll check.

I would be willing to add #48 to make this deal happen.

Edit: Or we can send you our 2018 2nd if you prefer the extra roster spot.

My 1st and second backcourt units are now pretty set (Monk and Mitchell, Bayless and Abrines). What's I'm looking to do is move back further in the first or into the early second and to consolidate some of my late 2nds (right now I have 46, 49, 50, and 51).

His contract is fully unguaranteed though so you can waive him (as long as it's before the 7/6 as there his contract becomes fully guaranteed). Not sure what you're trying to do, but most likely that is about as good as cap space (unless you're trying to absorb someone elses salary before July 1). Just my 2 cents.

You'd be immediately clearing approximately $15m and the rest after waiving Ellington who comes off your cap fiscal 2017-18 (July 1).

Considering you can't sign FA's until fiscal 2017-18 I can't see how it negatively impacts you but it's your call.

I'm not in this deal (just was interested in the thinking behind it) but from my knowing if you cut him on the first day of FA he wouldn't impact your cap space. That said, Miami already cleared enough salary (and traded Ellington) to outright take on Brook Lopez so that shouldn't matter anymore. Just send Lopez to Miami (and don' take my guy with your pick @20 ).
