Re: Whats Your Draft History?
I really started following the draft in 2013 so that's as far back as I'll go. Before that we never had a high pick or always traded our picks so I didn't bother much with "scouting" prospects.
2013- Noel..I thought he would be Marcus camby 2.0 which wasn't bad at #5 for a weak draft
2014- Warren/Lavine. Was really high on Warren, still think he can be an awesome player but probably not the all Star I thought he could be.
2015- Turner/Booker I thought Booker was a great pick so I got one at least!
2016- Chriss. I was pretty ticked off when we drafted bender over Chriss at 4. Thank God for that trade up.

2012: Don't think I was following the draft closely
2013: Thought Otto would bust, didn't want Bennett or McLemore. Here's my full mock
2014: Wanted TJ and Gary Harris, could've had TJ and Gary Harris. Predicted LaVine would bust in a major way.
2015: Infatuated with Myles Turner but knew he wouldn't drop. Thought Hezonja would be the second best player in that draft.
2016: All about Bender, very meh about Chriss. Wanted Furkan Korkmaz at 13.

2017 I will be happy with any of Jackson, Tatum or Fox
2016 Wanted Bender, then Murray
2015 Winslow
2014 Vonleh
Don't remember who I liked in earlier drafts.

Re: Whats Your Draft History?
I think I've liked too many prospects to accurately convey here. Just last year I wanted Denzel Valentine, Kris Dunn, Buddy Hield, Jaylen Brown, Tyler Ulis. I also wanted Stephen Zimmerman/Thon Maker/Zhou Qi in the second over Bender/Chriss at the top of the first. I ended up calling it quits and making my peace with all of the possible prospects and wrote a little summary of most of them. I'm sure my previous drafts were just a sporadic. I recall wanting Kyle Anderson when he was coming out. Stanimal, Rondae and I think Bobby Portis. Who knows who else.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Just curious, are you still a fan of RHJ, in the sense you would want him on the team? I had an offer in this mock offseason thing they are running here with GMs of every team and got a number of Bledsoe offers...mainly Denver and Utah REALLY wanted him but they don't have the right assets...Denver offered the 13, Mudiay and Barton or I could throw Nelson in to get a vet PG.
The most interesting one was a Brooklyn offer where they would get Bledsoe, but also take Knight off our hands for Lin, RHJ, and 26, where I would have probably taken Juwan Evans, who was one of the best PGs in the country...
Oklahoma State ran a pick and roll heavy offense with 56.3% of Evans' total derived offensive possessions (which includes shots, passes, fouls drawn, and turnovers) ending as the pick and roll ball handler according to Synergy Sports Technology. He showed that he is comfortable attacking the ball screen in a variety of ways, whether by rejecting the screen to get into the lane or forcing a switch to attack a big man off the dribble. He gets into space with a creative change of pace and impressive downhill quickness to bend the defense, and he should be able to seamlessly make the transition to a NBA style offense as he led the most efficient offense in the country primarily through his pick and roll attack. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jawun-Evans-76420/ ©DraftExpress
I ultimately didn't do the deal but it gave me thought. I thought we could see how Ulis did starting and use Lin as a 6th man to play with RHJ and Tatum off the bench.

WOW, Royce White and Austin Rivers clamoring. Some of us would have made Blanks look like a fricking genius.

I do still love Rondae and would love him as a Sun. I'm not sure I'd trade Bledsoe and Knight for Lin, Rondae and the 26th pick (though I do like Evans as well).

All this exercise has taught me is how rarely I am enthusiastic about the draft and how often that lack of enthusiasm is correct in hindsight.

Re: Whats Your Draft History?
Well. I have been following the draft for 40 years. But I will start with recent drafts.
2012. Very disappointed. Everyone I wanted went before us. I was kind of interested in Royce White, and finally settled that Kendall Marshall was the best choice. Except for Draymond Green being a sleeper, my lack of enthusiasm was warranted.
2013. My lists in order was Oladipo, McLemore, Noel, Len. Did not want Bennett or Zeller at all.
2014. In our range I wanted LaVine and Warren. I was not disappointed we got Warren instead of LaVine.
2015. There were alot of players I liked at the top of that draft. I kind of hoped Porzingis would fall to us. I really liked Turner too. But when our time to draft came, I wanted Booker. He just seemed to be the best of what was left. I did not expect him to become the dominant player that he is.
2016. I liked Sabonis but not at #4. I was not enthusiastic about Bender but was intrigued with Chriss. I had come to the conclusion I wanted Bender or Chriss but could not decide between the two.

Re: Whats Your Draft History?
Last year I wanted Bender and Chriss. I even posted here that it was a shame we couldn't somehow get both because I thought they would fit together on the court. Somehow we ended up with both. I also wanted demetrius jackson over ulis due to defensive concerns but am happy with either in round 2.
2015--turner but since he got picked i would have gone booker where we were at
2014--lavine. I was not super happy with the warren pick at the time.
2013--Len. Still think he has potential here.
Outside of that I also remember really wanting brandon jennings or drummond but no shot given the selections. I thought kawhi was going to be awesome and hated both morris twins from the first interview i ever saw them do. What a different spot we would be in if not for suit sweat.

Re: Whats Your Draft History?
I remember 2012 being a rough one. I loved Kidd-Gilchrist and thought he'd develop into a complete player but his shot was too far gone and he never learned how to dribble. Goes to show that first class character and work ethic doesn't equate to learning a skill(s).
I thought Jeremy Lamb had a very high ceiling and was pissed when he was drafted right before our pick. He turned out to have low bbiq and didn't really love the game it seemed like.
For the record I thought Marshall would've greatly benefitted from a year under Nash but he was traded to the Lakers a few weeks after the draft. The rest was history.

Re: Whats Your Draft History?
Last year was the first time I took an interest in thoroughly watching players I liked prior to draft season, but I can remember back to 2012 some of the guys I liked a lot and didn't like at all just from watching a lot of college basketball.
2012: Didn't understand why TRob was such a high pick despite like him at Kansas, hated Austin Rivers, hated Kendall Marshall, didn't like Harrison Barnes. I knew AD was going to be great after he completely **** on Kansas defensively in the championship game (so did everyone though), I liked MKG but knew that jumper was going to be a problem, and I wanted us to draft Jeremy Lamb on draft day.
2013: Hated Bennett, went on an angry Twitter rant when we drafted Len, wasn't an Oladipo fan, hated Trey Burke out of spite for that damn shot, hated Shabazz. Didn't even know who the Greek Freak was lol. I wanted either Noel or Ben McLemore on draft day, we have the opportunity to get either, and ended up with damn Len. And I still think BMac would have been good if he didn't get drafted to Basketball HellSacramento. His shot is beautiful.
2014: I, like a lot of people, was super hyped on this class and still think it'll be a good one when it's all said and done. Loved Wiggins, loved Bari, loved JoJo, was a Marcus Smart fan despite him being a flopping ****, really wanted us to draft Zach LaVine at 14 and was pissed TWolves took him. I wanted Gary Harris or Rodney Hood bad when we got to 18 and was really pissed we took Tyler Ennis just to supposedly trade him. Hated Vonleh, Stauskas, Randle, McDermott, and James Young.
2015: Didn't get to watch much college basketball this year. I pretty was confused why we took a Kentucky backup with our pick, but I heard he was a shooter and I thought we needed shooters so I was okay with it. I didn't like Winslow where he was being projected, but I remember being surprised he lasted until 10. I didn't like Frank the Tank at all either. I thought Oubre was dumb to leave Kansas early and that he would have benefitted from another year. I remember thinking it was funny that the Knicks were the team to take the risk on Porzingis.
2016: Don't mean to brag lol, but I called Marquese Chriss being the Suns draft pick in a text to my buddy back in mid-March 2016 before he was even on the 1st round board for DX, and I made a post about him as who I liked after Simmons and Ingram on the suns reddit at the end of March when he started rising into the top 15. I also liked Skal's upside a lot. Wasn't a fan of Jaylen Brown or Kris Dunn, didn't like Buddy for us at 4, liked Jamal Murray a bit, liked Bender and Dejounte Murray as an upside projects where they were projected, liked Timothe Luwawu and Juancho Hernangomez, didn't like Sabonis at 4 but did at 13, didn't like Poeltl. Draft day I was at a bar and was set on either Bender or Chriss with our first pick, and was really glad we got 2 out of what I considered to be the top 8 players.
2017: Big on Jackson and Fultz, and I'm a scared fan of Lonzo. Right now for our pick my order of potential preference is Jackson, Ball, Tatum, Smith, Isaac, Fox, but it's unlikely Jackson or Ball are there. I'm not a big fan of Monk, Anunoby, I'm lukewarm on Fox at his position because I think shooting is very important for a PG right now, and I like Isaac as a good fit that can contribute to us but don't know if I see the ceiling for him. I'm back and forth with Tatum; I think he's a smart player, he has a great frame to build on, and like the versatility he can bring on offense if his outside shot translates, but I want no part in him if he's not going to be a good 3 point shooter and he wants to live as a mid-range iso guy. I have high hopes for Dennis Smith's potential be be a star because he's a freak athlete, can create shots for everyone, and I think his PG skills are far above what Bledsoe's were at the same age. if he can prove to teams he's healthy and is put in the right scenario, but if his knees look like they could be an issue in the future I also want no part in him.

These would've been my Picks when Suns were on clock. Became more and more addicted to NBA Draft after Suns selected my first few choices (around teenage years) Lol also Suns fan since 1st Grade where my best friend in school Aunt worked for Suns and I would attend games occasionally up until 8th Grade... with anxiety I now watch games on Tv!!
2017: Josh Jackson or Jonathan Isaac. Super high on Lauri Markkanen though! De'Aaron Fox with Bledsoe Trade.
2016: Chriss and Bender. Was high on Dunn.
2015: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Wasn't excited about Booker Pick looking over stats, though didn't really watch much at all - eating crow!!
2014: Rodney Hood or T.J. Warren. Gary Harris, hated Ennis Pick! Jerami Grant, Nick Johnson, or Patric Young with 3rd Pick lol but Loved Bogdan Bogdanovic Pick!!
2013: Len and Goodwin. Was also high on Mason Plumlee.
2012: Moe Harkless, Terrence Jones, or Perry Jones III. Hated Marshall Pick!

2007: Gabe Pruitt lol or Ramon Sessions.
2006: Shannon Brown, Farmar, or James White.

2000: Jake Tskalidis. Also high on Jason Hart.
1999: Shawn Marion.
1998:
1997:

2014: Rodney Hood or T.J. Warren. Gary Harris, hated Ennis Pick! Jerami Grant, Nick Johnson, or Patric Young with 3rd Pick lol but Loved Bogdan Bogdanovic Pick!!
2013: Len and Goodwin. Was also high on Mason Plumlee.
2012: Moe Harkless, Terrence Jones, or Perry Jones III. Hated Marshall Pick!
2011: Shumpert, Chris Singleton, but also liked Nikola Vucevic (not a need). Hated Markieff Pick!
2010:
2009: Earl Clark.
2008: Robin Lopez, Darrell Arthur, or Mario Chalmers.
2007: Gabe Pruitt lol or Ramon Sessions.
2006: Shannon Brown, Farmar, or James White.
2005: Francisco Garcia.
2004: Andre Iguodala!!! Still upsetting, hated Sarver for that but got over it.
2003: Boris Diaw or Josh Howard. Barbosa when added other Pick. Hated Cabarkapa Pick!
2002: Amare Stoudemire or Chris Wilcox. Dan Gadzuric with other Pick.
2001:
2000: Jake Tskalidis. Also high on Jason Hart.
1999: Shawn Marion.
1998:
1997:
1996: Jermaine O'Neal or John Wallace. Was happy with Nash Pick because I'm a big U of A fan, Nash played well against Cats.
1995: Michael Finley.
1994: Wesley Person.
Welcome to the forums! Glad to see another Suns fan with knowledge of some history..not as much as some but more than many.

Re: Whats Your Draft History?
Thanks!! I've been lurking for years!!
Almost anything the Suns do at #4 (though prefer to keep away from Lonzo Ball) in top 11 wouldn't disappoint me but Smith (Injury), Tatum (IMO, is a 4), Monk (I prefer Booker at 2, making SF a bigger need for bench wing), Ntilinka (no game-film lol), and Collins (I would like Len and Williams both back) are in my next tier, with some of my concerns.
Can't wait for Draft, FA, and to watch young core develop!!

Some people were still on it a few years after we traded him strangely enough lol. Good buddy of mine almost got into a fist fight with his mom's boyfriend back in 2012 because he was mad that my buddy said Earl Clark sucked after the boyfriend was talking about how dumb the Suns were for letting him go and that he was going to be a star for the Lakers

I was only an occasional lurker here at the time but I was never on the Clark bandwagon, quite the opposite. It's been my experience that college players that cannot tell the difference between a great shot and a horrible shot will never amount to much. Early in the shot clock, 20 feet from the basket, heavily covered, up 1 or down 30, none of that mattered to Earl. If he had the ball and felt like shooting, he'd shoot. Even Brandon Knight shows greater shot discretion.
