Fergesun has dropped in some mocks... would aboslutely be doing backflips if we landed Fergsun and Ojeleye at 22/27
Fergesun has bigtime upside. id have to imagine his ceiling is alot higher the diallo.
Semi is a beast. bult like a truck, measured with a very good wingspan, and shot 43% from three. I think he has the build/size/skill combo where he could be a poor mans jimmy butler. would love to see what atkinson could get out of the kid.

Ferguson isn't as explosive to me as Diallo but he's still real athletic. I think he's more of a Will Barton clone more than anything. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he slid to 22.

Chad Ford has us taking Patton and Diallo. I'd be pleased with that haul.

I'm torn on Giles. He posted solid enough vert numbers that make me think he can regain his form it's just that he tore that ACL so many times it's just not stable anymore. He's probably more susceptible to tearing them again, that's my main concern more so than not regaining actual explosiveness.

I'd be way more optimistic about this team if they wind up with this haul

id be thrilled with that haul. Patton was #1 on my list of guys who might realistically be in our range or close enough to move up for.

I'd be more than pleased with that, Prok convinced me on Patton and now I hope that Marks will do everything in his power to get him.

Here's the mock draft, if anything Semi is also available at the 27th pick.

Thats not really how it works with your ACL. when you tear it, they don't fix it, they replace it. in the past it was typically taken from the patella, but now its almost always allograph donor tissue(someone elses ACL). since this has become more prevelant, ACL recovery has become more and more successful.
its also extremely common for someone to tear the acl in the left knee and then tear it in the right knee. the long term effects are minimal. its really a mental rehab to trust yourself again.
i think its all moot though. Giles will likely go late lotto or early teens

And with the possibility with adding another 1st or young player for a salary dump (Carroll?).

I'll take Carroll & the 1st (even if it's a future first) all day! I'd be super optimistic if the Nets haul Diallo, Carroll, Patton, & a 1st

Re: Brooklyn Nets 2017 Draft Thread
I know its unpopular but give me the #20 pick along with turner and leonard for trevor booker.
Booker and Leonards salaries for this season are a wash and say what you want about leonard but he is a stretch big who can also do alot of other things offensively.
we would add 17M to our cap and add the #20 pick. at 20/22/27 we would have alot of flexibility to add 3 guys or even move up.
we would still have 12M-19M n cap room, and up to 39M in cap room if we decided to move lopez.
Turner is a ball handler and passer who was great as a mentor and contrbutor early in the process for boston. i think he could help our young guys out a ton. 3 years left on his deal so he would expirw when we regain control of our picks

Leonard is absolutely terrible. He's been said to be mentally soft and Turner's game is terrible for this team along with his contract. Why do that at the expense of a good locker room vet and productive PF?

I actually think turner fits really well. he fit really well in boston in the same pace and space kind of offense and mentoring young guys. we need ball handlers and he is a very good one. creates some offense too.
I think Leonard would be alot better in an environment geared towards development.
and you ignore getting the #20 pick. thats a big part of it obviously.
where is the downside to this? unless you plan on doing another trade taking less salary or for a better pick, this is the kind of move we should be looking at

I'll do it for Leonard or Turner, not both. Preferably Leonard since he's 25 and could still have some room to grow. He might just need a change of scenery that's focused on development. But this is also under the notion that Lopez gets moved too.

they would not give a pick to move leonard. his contract is only 3 years 30 million.

Semi is so legit. He has all of the physical tools to become Jimmy Butler, he just needs to put it all together. He and RHJ would interchangeable at the 3/4 which is clearly what Marks wants.
Diallo and Semi would be great, but it would be better if we could do the following:
22- Diallo
27- Jeanne
trade 57 + cash for a pick in the 30s to get Semi
Spread Em and Dead em.

-Kyrie will be top 3 for MVP if we get to 50+ wins, he will average 27ppg, 7apg, shooting 50-40-90

Okay, I understand Leonard since he'd fit our system (despite how horrible he is) and getting pick #20
You really don't make much of a good argument for bringing in Turner. He doesn't fit this system (can't shoot, huge difference from RHJ who can't shoot but rebounds/defends/slashes pretty well) and he is by far one of, if not the worst, contracts in the league. Portland would need to give us something of serious value to take all of that garbage back man.

The #20 pick is the value for taking back turner... and he does fit the system too and was great with boston in a similar system. versatile enought o play multiple spots, great leader, unslefish, ball handler and passer. not shooting 3s is the only thing he doesnt do that we look for.
you arent going to get lottery picks to take back contracts like that. especially when it doesnt even get them under the cap. you can say "then we shouldnt do it" which is fine... but what are you spending that cap on instead?
id rather use it on turner then give a 1 year deal to someone
