Time to start a new direction. This is exciting if true.
We know we are in store for a new FO team as I'm sure McKinney, Babcock, etc. are all going to ORL with Hammond.
And that's not a bad thing. We need to add another star to Giannis and I'm excited to see what the next GM is able to do.

Thanks for drafting Giannis, Hambone. But with that said, peace out.

This move just makes too much sense for him. I figured once his name was initially reported that he'd end up leaving. Best of luck to him; always seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

I'll always defend him against "bottom-5" criticisms and I think owners and coaches have meddled, but in no way am I against moving on from him. Just make sure you get someone better. He didn't seem to have mastered the nuances of the CBA, didn't negotiate well, didn't always seem to care about fit, and had a perplexing tendency to overload one or two positions every year, to the detriment of others. That alone will prevent them from taking the next step, but it doesn't make him a terrible gm. Drafting is the most important part of the job, and he nailed it. Wish he could stay as a consultant/scout.

Hammond truly is a good dude. I met him a few years ago after the Bucks won a playoff game in a Chicago and sat down and chatted with him in the stands afterwards. He asked me questions about living in Chicago as a native Wisconsinite and talked about the game and took a few pics.
Like the man but don't feel he's the guy to get us to the Championship level teams I want to see in my lifetime.
No hard feelings and wish him success. Just don't try to steal our players from us!

He can steal Telly and Henson if he wants.

315-423, no series wins. I can live with his departure.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The biggest loss in all of this will be the death of the Hammond/phone montage.

Someone should post this for Orlando's fans. Pay it forward.

Well that escalated quickly. I wanted Hammond gone with the old regime. Definitely won't miss his interviews. Maybe the decision is as simple as wanting to grow old in the warm weather, because our situation is a lot sexier than Orlando's. But what a strange time to leave. Some of Hammond's best work was done in recent years. I figured retirement was on deck. Anyway, I do appreciate the parting gifts of Middleton, Giannis, Thon, and Brogdon. Deuces.

I make it easy on myself. Figuring out Hammond's level of blame is right up there with figuring out Thon's age. Unless I hear something straight from a source, it's not worth my time and aggravation to figure out based on limited knowledge.
Let's also not forget, Hammond has been jerked around the past 5 years as well. Surprised he didn't cut bait sooner.
The only thing I know for sure is that I don't want Kidd in a front office role.
That leaves me at square one. It all starts and ends with LED constructing a totem pole hierachy with professionals and responsibilities that caters to each persons expertise. No cross training, no cross hiring, no dual titles. Basically chapter 1 from 'Management for Dummies.' You'd think billionaires with a b wouldn't have to be told that. The rest is just smoke and mirrors and makes for good rumors

Regardless of whether you like him or not what LED did by firing Drew and hiring Kidd without telling him about it was complete b.s. Personally I wouldn't want to work for someone like that.

Just be warned that the grass isn't always greener. We could have owners who are deciding what FAs or trades to make and a terrible scouting/drafting department soon.
