when Brooklyn though they could skip the line and become a title winner in a summer with Williams, Johnson, Pierce, KG and Lopez with Kidd they were willing to sell the future
we now live in the future and its called the celtics
if we could find a taker for Melo, or if we could have for rose last year, who would have given us unprotected picks in 2019 and 2020 - swap, I know - then this tank and trade everything talk would make more sense
which is why the clips are slightly promising
though that Clippers timeline isn't great for KP
Come on guys, the Celtics never tanked. The Celtics are the epitome of what most fans on this board DON'T want to be. They were the team getting bounced in the first round for the last 2-3 years. They bought low on guys like Thomsas and Crowder, veterans that most on this board would say we shouldn't sign. Then they gave Horford a big contract and now they're Conference Finalists. The trade with the Nets hasn't even paid dividends yet, as Brown is a rotation player and that's it. I've said numerous times that you don't just go from cellar dweller to conference championships. You have to be willing to take those steps. We're not far from being a playoff team, so why not take the next step in getting better now?
I wouldnt call them "in" the ecf, i mean they're playing there but they're certainly not in it

I guess the Pacers and Blazers will go down in history as being in, but not being 'in' the playoffs...
