Whitewashing the Jennings - Knight/Middleton trade and making stuff up about trading the Giannis pick is hilarious...

I know, two second google searches are hard.

Give Hammond credit though for collecting assets so unappealing that Atlanta didn't want to trade an expiring Josh Smith for them.

STOP WHITEWASHING THE CONVERSATION WITH FACTS!

The year was 2010. The day belonged to St. Patrick. My visit to Los Angeles happened to coincide with a Bucks visit to the Staples Center. I staggered up to John Hammond, asked him if he knew who Nikola Pekovic was & strongly suggested he do everything in his power to acquire him.

Bless you Rev John. Go in peace.

Yep...

Sanders going crazy hurt... Pretty funny watching posters hitting on Hammond for not seeing that coming-

I can tell you the majority of people in that organization knew Larry was bat-sh** crazy

There's a reason he had a bunch of "extras" written into that extension of his. Still blows my mind they settled on a buyout given the precautionary measures they attempted to take.

Likely to avoid problems with the NBPA and not burn any bridges with agents.

Thank god he didn't get to trade the Giannis pick for Josh Smith and extend Jennings and Monta like he wanted to as well.

Hypothetical John Hammond sounds terrible. Or great, depending on who you ask. Actual John Hammond can't accurately be judged for about five years.

We lost a great drafter and a terrible contract giver outer. Fortunately for us, the draft isn't how this team takes the next step at this point.

How many jobs are you given 15 years before being judged?

he wrote one bad contract in 10 years.... drew gooden. and that contract was forced all over him by skiles specifically with kohl backing him up. I don't count the sanders deal and if you do your just as crazy as sanders turned out to be.

besides that there isn't a single other contract he ever wrote that he couldn't have moved or didn't move for an expiring. that's a fact. bad contracts are immoveable and moveable contracts are just contracts.

I still have no idea how the three headed monster of Samuel Dalembert, John Henson & Ekpe Udoh never flourished.

Did you really link something from a 2013 Bleacher Report?!?-

You got something from Hammond or Ferry?

Oddly, the Bucks did make a trade that day for a veteran (Kohl) and didn't trade 2013's pick- damn facts... 8-)

Joe Alexander - Played 67 games in the NBA. Bad
Brandon Jennings - Played 4 seasons for the team, traded, turned into a well below average bench guard.
Larry Sanders - Played 5 seasons. Crazy. Out of the league.
Tobias Harris - Played 80 games for team before being traded. Solid versatile tweener.
John Henson - Played 5 seasons. Backup centre.
Giannis Antetokounmpo - Star.
Rashad Vaughn - Behind Jason Terry on the depth chart.
Jabari Parker - Knee injury. Not Embiid.
Thon Maker. Might be the non crazy version of Sanders.

Depending on how you feel about Thon/Tobes there's only one sure fire starter out of 8 picks.

Edited for Jabari.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

SB Nation is not Bleacher Report and if you would actually click the link, there's a hyperlink to a Ric Bucher report. And of course I had to link it from 2013, since, you know, that's when the trade was going to happen and the Giannis pick would've been acquired by Atlanta.

Sorry that you're dumb.

Which NBA GM is a good drafter?
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

The Plumlee contract was bad, too... Hammond scrambled out of it, but it was bad.

Simple, the Bucks wanted Jennings back on an extension. Jennings didn't want to sign said extension. That led to him being traded in a very good trade for the Bucks.

John Hammond only deserves to be judged for his last four years where the teams went 131-197 (39%) and not his first five when the team went 184-210 (46%).
