It would be stupid to not get a PG out of this draft. Strong possibly that happens if we do not draft one at 5. DSJ is as good a Prospects as Tatum or Isaac. I would rather throw money at a wing in free agency this miss our chance on DSJ or Fox.

I would draft Josh Jackson if he fell though. He is only one i am comfortable taking over a point guard. He is going to be a defensive forces

I still think finding a SF long term is going to be harder because teams don't usually let theirs go and there is just too much talent/size to keep up with at the position, but Fox could be an answer at PG so screw it. The PG spot is waaay deeper than years past. Finding solid talent there isn't like it used to be when you had to overpay for Beno Udrih types. I agree that it might be stupid to not get one out of this draft though. I see the Kings are looking at Monte Morris. I like him as a 2nd round stop gap/gamble if the Kings waited that long to select a PG. There are solid upperclassmen options as late as the 2nd round this year IMO. Maybe the Kings can score like the Suns did last year with Ulis who looks like the best PG out of that draft so far.

We can't afford to go after "solid" talent at the PG position. We need THE franchise guy. Package the #5 and 10 to move up a couple spots and secure Fox.

I'm down with that but it's like with Dunn last year, sometimes the "franchise" guy really isn't and the surefire pick can be as far back as the 2nd round. I do think Dunn will improve but the point remains. And teams can survive and even be better with solid at PG if it fits. Jeez, how are those C's doing with a double dose of Smart/Bradley lockdown D?

I will add this as well. Unless this draft is completely screwy and a bunch of teams that shouldn't be truly desperate for a PG draft one anyway, then one of Smith or Ntilikina will be available. It's unlikely a top shelf SF will be available at 10 unless you view OG Anunoby as that, which I wouldn't necessarily disagree with BTW.

Nope, it's just my opinion. I like him personally but he's the outlier to the majority I'm sure. Right now I doubt very many people consider him top shelf or at the same level as those discussed in the top 10 on the wing. All it takes is one team though. I like him for his potential as a SF/PF combo with no shortcoming defensively at either position. Offensively, I don't see him ending up anywhere close to the offensive level of Tatum, Jackson, or probably Isaac. I can see an argument for OG's potential to be near them or maybe even exceed them should he pan out in every area he's not complete in at the moment but it would take SERIOUS Kawhi level development at the next level. Depending on that might be more than wishful at this point but it's still possible.

Couldn't agree more. Point guard is the deepest position and it seems every year a couple solid players are left behind by their team (e.g. Teague). Conversely, no one willingly parts ways with wings that can shoot and play defense. I can't even remember the last time someone like that was traded. I'd like us to get a PG but a SF is the number one concern IMO.

Hahaha, it's one thing to say, another to show. I like OG but I'm not willing to say anyone else necessarily sees him as top shelf or not because those OPINIONS will mostly likely vary. Show me the bases and how they're covered, then we'll talk.

I don't post memes. I post gifs.

And since having your "bases covered" is a metaphor and was a joke at your expense, there is nothing to show. I'm just laughing.

Here is a scenario that is popping up that hasn't been discussed I don't think, (I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong). But with Fox rising in some peoples eyes it's worth looking at.

What if the Lakers pass on Ball and take Fox or Jackson?

Say it works out like

Bos - Fultz
LA - Fox
Phil - Monk or Jackson
Phx - Jackson or Tatum

How do you feel about Ball?

Is he the PG we can build around or do you value Tatum over him?
