DSJ could be the steal of the draft if he slips to 8-9th. I have seen the best and worst of him. Hard to blame last years NC State season on him. He will be a very good if not great pro. Best athlete in the draft IMO.

Dennis smith in the lead on the magic board. If the draft unfolded like this and youre phily do you start trying to move back up to get monk? Hes such a good fit and they have the assets to make a move.

Say they offer the wolves Covington the lakers pick and take a salary or two off their hands. Minnesota is already young and with tibs im sure they want to make the playoffs next year. That would give them assets and cap flexibility to add some pieces.

I don't think we gain anything by trading up one spot. We're either getting Jackson or Tatum. You guys are the ones who'll have to live with adding another suspect shooter to nearly an entire roster of suspect shooters. Good luck to you.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I don't suppose the 32nd pick would be enough? That's probably about the most I think our FO would even consider. They have talked about not adding too many rookies too fast before and added 3 last year. If they really liked Jackson more than Tatum, they might do it, but they will probably be happy with either and will take who's left. Heck, they may really like Tatum and be afraid he will be gone too and go for a trade like that.

Things may change a bit as teams workout these players.

Sure. This entire premise is predicated on the thought that PHX identifies Josh Jackson as their guy. If they are just as content to add Tatum as they are JJ then there's admittedly nothing to see here.

So I take it you wouldn't view 32 as enough to swap? You could probably get a good player there. I guess it just depends on how much you value JJ for your team as opposed to others or if others below us would swap, but I imagine many of them will want some of the guards as well.

yeah 32 isn't enough for me, just on principle. I know NBA is diff from NFL Draft, but the value in jumping one spot in the top 5 of a draft has to be more than the last pick of the 1st rd/1st pick of the 2nd round.

I understand if you view the separation of players from 3 to 4 as signficant. If not it is a good asset since there are quite a few good players in that range at 32.

yeah obviously we still have a lot of time here. but just this week I've gone from Jackson being my unquestioned stud (at 3) to moving D'Aron Fox ahead of him and DSJ on the same level as him. So if that's how a lot of teams feel a month from now then I suppose to the trade down opportunities will be few and far between.

It's eerie how unanimous it is with us. It's created a problem over at the board because there's nothing to debate. We're having to limit the discussions on plan B scenarios and who to choose with the #10. Among the options with Fox out of consideration, I would personally take Issac over Tatum for our team. We're in a complete rebuild and Tatum's game is too like Rudy's for my interest. I personally want to build a decentralized team that is balanced among all positions and whose offense is not centered around any ball-dominant individuals. Issac seems like a long term project, but with a good personality and high upside, I'm willing to make the investment.
