I think Tatum is more like Rudy Gay that Thad Young.

Tatum's lack of athleticism does concern me but we will have Embiid back there to help clean up on the defensive end. But like I said in another post, im not too enthralled with any of the kids in this class. Starting to remind me of 13's class, except it seems that these guys will have long careers in the league
I can't agree. We still haven't seen Embiid play half a season and we haven't seen Simmons at all. I want the best possible player, so if we can't build a winner winner with Embiid, then maybe we can build around Simmons and (whoever). Or if. Simmons isn't any good, we can build around Embiid and (whoever). We aren't set. We aren't at the point that we can let superior talent go by, trying to fit players with Simmons or Embiid.
Yeah but there isn't a guy like that in this draft. Theyll be in next draft
Yeah, there may be some players in next year's draft, but we might not be in position to get any of them. And either way, we still aren't near the point we can pass on talent. I know you're a bit ambivalent towards the players in this draft, and there is likely no Franchise player in this draft, but I do see a 3-4 difference makers.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Smart post. You know your stuff.

Oh how I'd love to have 4 picks in the top 12.
There are so many quality guys that would fit great. I just hope we don't reach with the 3rd pick

I know Rudy Gay is code word for inefficient chucker but I think people don't realize how gifted he was. He was a phenominal athlete, has a pure (looking) jumper, can get his own shot...dude had all the tools. While I wouldn't call him lazy persay...he just never found out how to use them. So drafting a Rudy Gay level talent shouldn't be this insult it has been used as.

If we are talking alpha dog mentality meaning a guy who isn't not afraid to take the big shot or the last shot then Tatum and Monk are probably the most alpha dogs in the top 10. I would put Dennis Smith a close second. Fox right there. Ball and Fultz there. So there are big shot takers and makers in the top ten. We just have to get it right.
From the list you can see being the most alpha dog in clutch situations doesn't mean you have the best talent or should be taken with the 3rd pick (Monk) though.

Yeah, Rudy Gay was pegged as the next "it" guy prior to his season at Uconn. He was as talented as possible but
something didn't click and getting drafted by the Grizzlies, who were a trash franchise at the time, didn't help matters.

Rudy averaged 11.8 points as a freshman. Stayed in school for another year. He was very hyped out of high school but by the time he was coming out the hype had cooled significantly.

Rudy Gay has had a solid career for a top 5 pick. It isn't like he was the #1 pick. Frankly, I'd be surprised if Tatum became as good as Rudy Gay. Gay was more talented at the same stage.

Maybe athletically.....not sure Gay had the arsenal of scoring moves that Tatum has as a freshman. Tatum has better #'s as a freshman then Gay did as a Sophomore.

Yes. Gay was much better athletically. Didn't assert himself like Tatum. Was very deferential to his teammates. Something I think could be an issue with Jonathan Isaac.

If he works out would it be wrong to assume IT is an issue in Lonzo's eyes?

Ball wears #2. Moses Malone, wasn't his number supposed to have been retired this year?

There was talk that none of the top players want to get drafted by the Celtics because they don't see an opportunity to play.

A few of us share the opinion that Lonzo and Josh are the two best players in this draft. I would love either of them.

Curious why Lonzo's PNR game isn't more criticized. 49 PNR ball handler possessions all season, only .847 ppp in them. Thats bad.
Wouldn't matter as much here, but seems like an issue.

It's because he doesn't want to go to a team that has uncertainty at the head coaching position with Brad Stevens on the hot seat.
