Didn't that same system grade Russell as #1 a couple years ago? We all saw how that worked out. Go with your eyes, not with arbitrary studies.

I think it said that Russell had the most star potential but also a sky high bust potential. I don't remember if KAT was ommitted in that.

For us, he would be used in the roll you are describing w/ Simmons. His creation, btw, is pretty basic. He seems to tunnel vision. Like a quarterback that is spectacular if his first read is there but falls apart on the 2nd, 3rd etc.

I think his handling should improve quite a bit. Nothing seemed suspect but, again, it was basic. It's logical considering this guy probably just needed a basic move w/ his athleticism to get by.

Monk is a worthless player if he can't hit the three ball at above average or score in the paint/shoot free throws at a top rate. So Lou Williams or Boobie Gibson.

I was listening to the Dunc'd On podcast, and they were saying DSJ scored 1.5 ppp on unguarded catch & shoot plays. Not sure of the sample size, but it seems like that would be a pretty great thing to have next to Simmons/Embiid.

No, but maybe someone with Synergy can help us out. DX has a "shooting splits" tab on the prospects' pages, but I can't get it to work... Not sure if it would distinguish between guarded/unguarded catch & shoot though.

As of March 7, which probably just covers the regular season, Josh Jackson was shooting 40% on standstill 3 pointers. 45.2% on unguarded, catch and shoot 3's. 37.5% on guarded, catch and shoot 3's.

That's a great article and kinda helps ease some of my concerns with Jackson. With Simmons/Embiid he should get plenty of shots spotting up and off catch and shoot. He shoots well there and if the off the bounce shooting comes, he will likely take him game to another level in the NBA.

No worries on him getting buckets in transition or slashing....and agree that while he may not be a Tony Allen lockdown defender, he will be disruptive and create opportunities with steals/blocks/deflections.

I would trade a couple of 2nd rdrs with a team that needs a salary dump to move up into the 20s and draft Jawun Evans too. Take Jackson with #3 and you're set!

I don't really get the concern to begin with. A guy like Jackson has no business taking jumpshots off the dribble any way. When he puts the ball on the floor he gets to the basket at will. I swear people must not have watched him play much, and are interpreting scouting reports.

I still don't understand why people are so dead set on this team taking Josh Jackson #3. Dude honestly has bust written all over him, can't shoot at all, has shaky handles, doesn't exactly fill a need, and has off the court issues. In fact, Isaac is the better option if you're looking for a small forward.

Personally, I think either Monk or DSJ should be the pick, whether BC takes one of those guys at #3 or trades down and takes one of them at #5 or #6.
