Damnit Snakes I wanted Curry/Wade. Ugh there's one guy I wanna take but I don't like his fit. I'll go with the other guy I'm shocked to see still on the board.

KG. I don't see anything drastically (remotely?) different about his 05 season folks normally use and this year except for 1 extra FGA, which hurts a bit but this is a mid-1st talent in the high 2nd and I love his fit with Wade so, yeah, that'll work.

I'm torn. I want to pick a certain guy, but the season I would have to use for him is shortly after his peak, certainly not his best year. I am ultimately going to go with a guy that is a better defender and shooter. After MJ, this guy is there with Wade for 2/3 best SGs in this draft, with quite a drop off after only a few more. He costs a bit, but I need that Mamba mentality.

Give me Kobe Bryant.

I will go ahead and select Julius Erving.

I'll complete a killer inside-outside pairing with this guy:

Image
Kevin McHale

Lethal post scorer with a variety of back-to-the-basket moves and a soft jumper, and an elite defender who can credibly switch out to guard wing players. Also happens to be in his peak season where he made All-NBA and All-Defensive First Teams.

Jimmy Butler. Not sure that he's BPA necessarily but I like getting a 2 way wing for relatively low FGA

I choose the 1997 DPOY, Dikembe Mutombo.

Like Pippen, he arguably had his best season in 1997.

This was Dikembe's first year in Atlanta, and they went from 16th in the league in defensive rating all the way up to third.

I'll just stick with the trend of taking slightly off-prime guys who have slipped way further than I expected. I know this guy missed some time this year and was brutally snubbed of an all-nba team because of it but he was an absolute stud when on the court and almost carried a hodge-podge unit over a much better team in the playoffs. Give me:

Image

I think he's a great fit next to Wade/KG. He shot 41% on 5 apg on 3 this year, can run the offense without being ball-dominant and will set those guys up in their best spots. He also solidifies my defense which is pretty suffocating so far. Yeah, don't understand how he lasted this long, he's obviously not at peak powers but he costs a good 3 FGA less than those versions.
