Should we trade next years second to move up in the second this year ??
A swap with Phoenix might be nice - they could use quantity - Orlando too

My early opinion on next year is that there are 4 guys who could have gone #1 this year if they were in this draft (Doncic, Bamba, Porter, Ayton) and then it falls off pretty aggressively from there, and is nowhere near as deep as this draft is.

Definitely not as deep, but I like the top of the draft. Add Robert Williams, Wendell Carter, Miles Bridges, Trevon Duval, Hamidoui Diallo, Collin Sexton and Isaac Bonga to the crop you already listed. I also expect Lonnie Walker and Troy Brown to get some chatter after next year.

I like Hartenstein. I like that he spent a year in the best team in Lithuania, a country that teaches good basketball and produces tremendous amount of talent considering their population. Very encouraging that he survived there and even managed to log minutes in the Euroleague. I watched a doco about his decision to make the move there from Germany, and he seems to come from a sane environment family wise and sports development wise. His father is a former player and coach but not a big name coach, which is a good thing. He also seems to have made tremendous improvements in his game and physique since that video, which is also a great sign.

If he interviews well and fits the young bucks personality he would be my 1st choice @ 17. I'd let Moose expire next summer and then he would be my back up C behind Thon. I want a mobile floor spacing 7 footer on the floor at all times. I see a mix of KP and Monteijunas in that guy.

Also we should trade our 2nd pick up and get Dorsey because I don't think he will be there at #48. Just give someone $2m or something and get #35 or so.

Anybody have any idea what Lessort's wingspan/standing reach is? I imagine there's nothing official online?

Agree w other posters, high end talent, little depth. Luka Doncic looks like the truth too

Likely gone, but hopeful to fall:
1. Zach Collins
2. Donovan Mitchell
3. O.G. Anunoby

Realistic rankings:
1. Jonathan Jeanne
2. Frank Jackson
3. Justin Patton
4. Jarrett Allen
5. Isaiah Hartenstein
6. Derrick White
7. Semi Ojeleye

Hopefully we work the phones and trade back if the top 3 are gone, if not I would just go upside with Jeanne or Jackson at this point. My current dream scenario is Jeanne + White in the 1st, somehow and Mason or Dorsey in the 2nd.

Yeah, I think Doncic is clearly the best 18 year old since LeBron. I wouldn't go so far as to say the best prospect since Bron because his game is already so polished (aka less room to improve) and his physical profile/tools will never be elite by NBA standards, but I see his floor as a 15/5/5 guy the second he gets starter minutes.

Bolden is an absolute gem in the 2nd.

Both guys are intriguing, both had great years, either could be one year wonders. Bolden reminds me of Cornelie who I loved last year and had a **** season.

Of the prospects projected to possibly be available at 17, I'd prefer in this order:

Luke Kennard
Donovan Mitchell
Isaiah Hartenstein
Justin Jackson
OG Anunoby
Lauri Markkanen
Tyler Lydon
OG Anunoby
Lauri Markkanen

Zach Collins would be my #1 but does anyone really believe he's going to fall that low at this point?
I've seen a ton of hate for Kennard around here, but it's just hard for me to discount what he did in the ACC this year. Even if his defense was atrocious, the dude's offensive numbers were pretty awesome.

Zach Collins is probably underrated. I can actually see the Suns taking him at #4.

I have narrowed it down to two guys. Tyler Dorsey and Jonah Bolden. Love what they bring to the table and adding more Greek and Aussie talent great for chemistry.

are you talking about 1st or 2nd round??

If you're willing to grab dorsey at 17th I'd personally just take Derrick White. He's like the better version of Dorsey

Exactly, look at Thon last year. Most people had him as a possible 2nd rounder
Is there a PG version of a Thon pick this year?

No not really. The closest would be French Frank I guess, and before he pulled out Diallo.
What do you think of a trade down or reach for Jawun Evans?

Still not seeing what some are with Doncic. It reminds me of Andrew Luck coming out of Stanford. I feel like he was a pretty good prospect that one person really got behind and said was some sort of generational talent. Somehow everyone just started agreeing with this guy and the Luck hype train got out of control. Could be happening here. Doncic looks very good in his own right but looks like a marginal athlete and doesn't appear to dominate in any single aspect of the game.

I don't think anyone would take getting compared to Andrew Luck as an insult. He's been very very good. Sorta like the AD of the NFL, he's lived up to individual expectations, but the team around him just hasn't been good enough yet.

I would like us to find a way to get Caleb Swanigan. Sleeper of the draft this year IMO.

PG version of Thon. There isn't. Evans and Mason could be consider with high upside but Thon didn't play college basketball at all.

This year's Thon is Jeanne and Hartenstein.
Ntilikina and Mitchell could be considered with unlimited ceiling.
Semi Ojeleye is really close to Thon in matter that he is projected as a 2nd rounder #34 and could turn out to be a top 10 player in a future redraft.
I think most GMs have figured out this draft class and won't trade their picks for #17.
Maybe a deal with the Nets where we dump em salary +#17 ...

maybe Henson + #17 for #22 + #27 ...
Kennard + Henson for Jeanne + Evans

I'm with Cronus on this one. He looks very skilled, but his lack of athleticism could hurt him on the wings in the NBA. He looks more like a longer Manu. Which isn't a knock on him. And I'm not comparing him to Manu just because he's a white European. He uses his body well and has that euro step down nicely. Think his skillset will translate well. Good court vision, can knock down the jumper and get to the rack, but I can't say he's the best prospect since LeBron.

I still like Mo Bamba and Porter Jr. next year the most. Ayton looks decent as well, but is it just me or does he look super old?

Trade down for another pick and grab Bell, Bradley, and Dorsey

I agree that he isn't the best prospect since LeBron as I said before. I just said that I think he's the best 18 year old since LeBron, which is a totally different statement.

And yeah Ayton does have a bit of those Greg Oden / Perry Ellis genes. On an unrelated note if there's going to be one of those 4 who busts or falls out of the top four it'd be Ayton. I am quite worried about his mentality and work ethic.
