This year's draft is so deep that someone good is going to drop to us at #28. Throw in a few stash Euros into the top 25 range and our pick at #28 could be someone special. The following are guys that are projected late in 1st round or 2nd rounder but I bet a few of the projected top 25 guys fall into the 2nd round.

1. Bam
2. Jordan Bell
3. Semi
4. Frank Jackson
5. Tony Bradley
6. Ike Anigbogu

There are going to be a good number of talented players undrafted too. The FO better get the invites ready especially with 2 additional spots opening up between the team and DLeague.

If we dont get a poing guard in the first round, there will be a good number of quality players to be had late 2nd rounder or undrafted too...

1. Sumner
2. Nigel Williams Goss
3. Frank Mason
4. Kobi Simmons

and a big board average position of 34 as well...

unlike bam or jordan bell, i think he'll still be on the board, and seeing as #28 isn't too much of a reach, particularly if he could be a draymond, slot him in at the 5

damn look at the PnP efficiency

i'm thinking if we take most of the decision making out of his hands, he becomes a solid 3 and D guy at worst, if he improves the decision making, he might have a chance at becoming draymond

My issue with Semi is defensively. 1.6 Blk%, 0.8 stl%, 15.0 DR%. In the American conference? As a 22 year old junior? Yuck.

Draymond was at 3.4 blk%, 2.7stl%, 28.5DR%. Only chance Semi has at becoming Draymond is if he legally changes his first name.

Lets not waste the pick on him por favor.

Yep, and with our logjam at 3/4 already, that's why I have Malik Monk a better fit for this team. If you take a guy like Jackson or Fox, there would have to be some significant roster change to maximise those players.

Cool read:

Read on Twitter

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/6dx15v/oc_i_wrote_some_code_to_generate_comparable_nba/

1. Lonzo Ball - The most unique prospect in the dataset. His stats were so ridiculous that he returned the lowest similarity scores in the system. Jason Kidd’s sophomore year was Lonzo’s #1 per 40 minute similarity score. He was the only player to return a single season of Jason Kidd, and he managed to return both Kidd’s freshmen year and sophomore year. He also returned both of Rondo’s Kentucky seasons, which shows what Ball can be if his jump shot doesn’t translate. The system also returned both of MCW’s Syracuse seasons, two Kris Dunn seasons, and Evan Turner’s magical Junior OSU season, showing that he can bust just as easily as he can turn into the next JKidd. However, he produced unprecedented stats for a Freshman guard and appears to have a legendary BBIQ, which is why I give him the slight edge over Fultz.

Unique p40: Kidd (x2), Conley.

Others returned: Westbrook, Grant Hill, Artest, Penny (x2), Deron Williams (x2), Bibby, Wall, DRose.

2. Markelle Fultz - The only player in the dataset to return both of Westbrook’s UCLA seasons. Additionally, him and Fox were the only players to return an Iverson season. Fultz, however, returned the more impressive AI season (Sophomore). I was a little surprised that Penny didn’t show up given how similar his Junior season was. Fultz is a ferocious scorer, and he’s going to get a lot of buckets in his career. Kyrie Irving showed up in the intersection set, but so did Reggie Jackson, Trey Burke, and Dion Waiters. His scoring potential is outrageous though, exemplified by Westbrook and Iverson showing up in the per40 set, which is why he’ll be the #1 pick in the draft, presumably.

Unique p40: Westbrook (x2), Iverson (So.), Baron Davis, Avery Bradley.

Others returned: Francis, Marbury, Arenas, Irving, Roy, Rose, DRussell.

6. Josh Jackson - I had him at 3 until I embarked on this project. He wasn’t getting ranked above Ball and Fultz. Fox and Isaac returned more interesting results, and Monk could be the best scorer out of everyone not named Fultz. The system returned Justise Winslow as Jackson’s most similar player. He was #2 to Oladipo in the per40 set and #2 to Taurean Prince in the adv set. I asked myself if I would take Winslow over any of the ridiculously talented guards in this draft and that's a tough question. While I think Winslow is a great player and still has upside, he is limited to 3-D wing without the ‘3’ (at least for now). I’m afraid that this is the fate of Jackson. However, Jackson can do so many other things well, which is why I have him above DSJ. He might be the best perimeter defender in the draft, he rebounds and passes well for a wing, can slash easily, and finish with authority. If he figures out his jumper, he could wind up being the best player in the draft. His shooting mechanics aren't as clean as Fox's, which is why I'm a little higher on Fox than Jackson.

Unique p40: Josh Howard (x3)

Others returned: Pierce, Carter, Artest, Jason Richardson, Granger, Roy, Stackhouse.

Lakers working out tons of guards and forwards. Hopefully this means the end of the Young, Deng, Robinson era.

He is all hustle and no skill? Anything beyond league minimum would be an overpay.

Glad to see the Jackson hype train slowing down. His character is highly questionable, and I think he's a Gerald Wallace, or MKG type. He was hyped as the next great shooting guard, but he seems like a 3/4 tweener who won't be a great scorer at the next level.

He'll be a solid player though.

I started out full-on for Lonzo, then I got talked out of it on here, and elsewhere, but I'm back where I started. At 28, Jordan Bell, and if he goes undrafted the way so many mocks have him, Isaiah Hartenstein as undrafted invite. Watched a bunch of film on him and he's a good bet - good coordination and feet, messed up shot that can be fixed, shot blocker - I like him as a project. Unlike a lot of skil-type bigs, he doesnt need to gain 80 pounds to play. He's got a solid body

Can't wait til the draft and summer league.

Interesting names tomorrow for the Lakers. Cameron Oliver was someone I'm glad they are looking at. 38% from 3 and 2.6 blocks a game are interesting numbers.
