The only way I'm interested in paying Drummond 20+ million a year is if we're allowed to give him a brain transplant. Call me crazy, but I personally wouldn't take that contract on for our 2nd round pick.

He's like Waiters + 40 lbs of pure athleticism.

Holy cow does he pass the eye test. What's the reason this dude isn't in any mocks?

Numerous reasons, like any other player not invited to the combine. He had a pretty slow 3/4 sprint at PIT.....of course, he also weighed in at a whopping 266. The dude is clearly a freak athlete and could run faster if he shed 20 pounds and was a slim 246 lmao.

Honestly, I'm crossing my fingers that the Packers kick the tires on him before he goes D-League or overseas. Bring him in for a workout. His size/athleticism are phenomenal for a TE and he's ultra coordinated. He was a top 50 basketball recruit.

He'll be 24 as a rookie and unlike Brogdon, he just wasn't anything special in college.

Edit: I don't mean that to sound like he was a bad player or anything. Literally just mean he wasn't a very special player like Brogdon was at UVA. Burton played pretty well in marginal roles until his redshirt senior season when he became a good, but not great, collegiate starter.

I remember him. I believe he initially committed to MU.

Burton looking like Beasley ... I guess he can be a scorer coming off the bench, nice highlights but I have to see his perimeter defense to judge him. I think his weight makes him a terrible perimeter defender and he is undersized as a 4. As another poster said ... slim him down asap in order to play the SF

His body is fine, just let him work on his skills and round into a modern bench forward Corliss Williamson type of bully mismatch scorer. Perfect candidate for a two-way contract if he goes undrafted. This is the kind of guy who I can see being an X-factor in a playoff series with a favorable matchup (down the road, of course), but he's got to continue to improve his skillset.

Baynes will opt out, right?
Can we sell the pistons the idea of Baynes+12 for Henson+17?

No cause the Pistons want to free cap space ... replace Henson with Vaughn and hope Mitchell waits at #12

Wow, he looks awesome. Hard to find someone with those measurements at 47.

You won't. He's gonna go in the first. I'd really like to pair him up with Giannis and Thon. Could even play all 3 at the same time due to their outside games and Giannis' defensive versatility. May even allow us to hide a smaller score-first PG like a Frank Mason if we had three 7-footers that can switch and cover.

So we get an upgrade, save salary, and move up 5 spots? COUNT ME IN

Somehow I don't think the Pistons are going for that deal

He actually played 2 years at Marquette. Left after the 14-15 season.

The idea that anyone would deal Middleton for a late lottery pick blows my mind.

So. Bad.

God I hope not. A year ago people immediately tossed the idea of Middleton for Boston's pick, but now after a brutal hamstring tear and half a season people want to give him up for a late lottery?

Gets complicated if it also allows us to dump a bunch of salary and we have eyes for a major FA. I don't see anything realistic out there. Sometimes unrealistic things happen I guess.
