I like Jawun's game a lot, but at that point in the draft I'm a lot more for addressing needs because it's even less clear who BPA will be at 32 and everything turns into a crap shoot, so you might as well hope you hit the lottery on a player that fills a role of need. The only scenario I can picture us feeling like a PG is necessary at 32 is if we go wing at 4 and still trade Bledsoe. I'd rather look into a 3-and-D prospect, a high upside prospect that drops, or a center (depending on our plans with Chandler/Len/Williams this offseason).

Agreed! With respect to that, Is there anyone else on this forum who upon reflection sees the potential for another draymond green type of player in Semi Ojeleye or caleb swanigan perhaps? And wich player would be your preference at #32 if available? :D

Draymond Green is a high bar to set, but I like both of them to be the type of player that busts their ass on both ends, shoots the ball well from outside, and rebounds well for their position. Not sure Swanigan has the mobility that Draymond does or that Semi can pass like Draymond, but they both can be very valuable role players in my opinion.

This is a great PG draft, but he might be the only worthwhile one available by the time we get to pick 32, assuming pick 4 goes to one of the SFs.

I kind of hope we don't draft him because I'll spend the rest of his career as a Sun calling him Frank Johnson.

Swanigan is a way better prospect than Ojeleye IMO.

Ojeleye averaged just 0.4 steals and 0.4 blocks in 34 minutes per game. Those are really low numbers, and that normally means a future poor defender in the NBA.

He is 22.5 years old...on the other side Swanigan is 20 years old and he progressed a lot on his sophomore season. He has a 7'3 wingspan, shoots over 40% on threes and he is a tank that loves contact.

Swanigan can be the steal of the draft. I would love to get a pick in the early twenties to draft him.

another senior 2 guard, Sindarius Thornwell, more in the Wesley Matthews mold. Very good defender. Shot well as a senior, good FT%. 2pt% is not great. Great rebounding for a 2.

Would be valuable to have in late game situations when you can't trust Booker at all to get a stop. Would bring back the defense and hustle that left with Tucker. I really like this guy.

Monte Morris will make someone's roster. If we are looking for a 3rd PG, this guy will eventually be a 2nd one.

I'm a little confused why Hart is projected mid second round. Sure he's a little older and not a super star athlete so I get why he's not a lotto guy but he seems like a late first round profile to me.

I think he just stayed too long in the NCAA
He's kinda rare as a prospect, he was REALLY good since his freshman year.

21yo senior too, he's not that old tbh.

He is 22 years old.

I think he can be a good role player, like Courtney Lee but less athletic and better rebounder.
Decent option at #32, but I prefer other players.

Who names their kid Sindarius Thornwell? Sounds like Steve Urkel's more nerdy cousin.

I like Bam, Swanigan, Semi, Hart, Bryant, Morris, and Bell of the current guys projected in the 2nd round.

Not a big fan of Brooks. Like his attitude and shooting but no versatility whatsoever.

Motley is growing on me due to his length. Could buy Kobi with our last pick as a project. The new D-league rules help with that luxury.

I would love to somehow add Bam To our team with an additional late first or 2nd round pick. Now I know some may not agree with this statement, But for my part( call me nostalgic) But I see a lot of "young Amare" in Bam, At least athletically and with respect to power in the post. For awhile now, He had drawn many comparisons to a young Dwight Howard! minus the girly whining and preening of course! But honestly if you compare the gametape:

And now Bam Edebayo:

So hopefully you can see the similarities . Bam is right now listed at 6'10 and 250lbs, with a 7'0 wingspan, and a 40 inch vertical. :o So same size as Amare, But he has 10lbs on him too. Is every bit as mobile, powerful and offensive skill and versatility is improving more and more. I would personally secure the #20 pick from Portland just to make sure we can grab him before another team does.

I mean, We all remember what Amare was able to do for us! Just imagine if he never had that knee issue/injury and where we might be today. Now imagine a player like Bam(young (Amare type) added to our young core. That to me would be a very exciting team to watch.

Two draft day steals in my opinion that we MUST NOT overlook!

Bam Edebayo-

A" young Amare Stoudamire"/ " Dwight Howard" hybrid.Could be had around pick #20.

And Semi Ojeleye-

and :

A must for our #32 pick(if possible).

A very powerful, very versatile, hybrid small forward/ power forward with the strength, size, mobility of a LeBron james( similar)aand defensive potential and I.Q. of possibly Draymond Green.

Also with a very productive 3 point shot. Just watch the videos and tell me if you disagree in any way. 8-)

Anyone thinking Anigbogu from UCLA will drop to 32?

He could. This draft is weird in that after about the top 12 guys that next group of 20-25 prospects could go in any order. I'm sure some of that will clear up over the next few weeks but as of now it's a total crap shoot.

Also for our shooting guard needs, I would love to see us take a long, hard look at Donovan Mitchell.

He is supposed to be a super talented, ultra explosive shooting guard.

Now thats a guy who I don't think will drop out of the top 20. Some team will fall in love with his athleticism.
