Bledsoe/Drummond what others pieces make this work?

Post#1 » by NBA Fiend » Wed May 31, 2017 11:38 pm

Suns and Pistions had talks at the deadline and McDonough said he will revisit these talks from last year. With the report out that the number 12 is available for the right veteran I am wondering what the Pistions would want for Drummond and 12. Thanks

They'd want way more than any reasonable team would be willing to pay.

I think dealing Drummond and dealing the 12th pick represent fundamentally different paths, and I can't see us on principle wanting to deal both in the same trade.

If you want to win now, you trade the 12th (god I hope not). If you want to start over, unload Andre to save some money and get some assets. In that situation, you definitely want to keep the pick.

It would take a pretty impressive deal in my mind to make SVG consider packaging both.

Dre & #12 likely includes #4 and Bledsoe from Phoenix...

They hang up and we move on.

As Snake said packaging both those assets in one move doesn't make much sense.

Drummond and Reggie for Bledsoe and Chandler? Maybe we have to throw in #12?

I just think if that deals go down, we'll regret it badly. I like Bledsoe, but he's injury prone. If we could get him without giving up Drummond, sure. I don't want Tyson chandler either if we have to give up assets. He's getting old and is injury prone as well. Stan wouldn't go for this.

I feel like we improve at both positions, on the court and by shedding their salaries. I'm not a big Bledsoe fan even without the injury concerns, he's a good player but I prefer my PG to be more of a distributor. Chandler is still a big difference maker, I'm shocked a contender hasn't made a move for him over the last couple years.

Suns GM mentioned that we offered our 3 best players Dre, RJ, KCP for their 3 best players at the trade deadline. I believe that was Chandler, Bledsoe and Booker.

Booker being the key sticking point.

Suns GM said that it was very late and they were looking to recommence discussions around that deal this summer.

Well, Suns wont trade Booker in that package.
Only trades Suns will package Booker (along with the farm) is to land a KAT, Porzingis or a Davis....

The only way your getting Drummond AND 12 is for Booker. I honestly don't believe SVG would trade Drummond for anything less than Booker. You're much more likely looking at Reggie and 12 for Bledsoe.

If we were guaranteed Josh Jackson, I would honestly prefer knight over Bledsoe in a trade. He fits the mold of a 3&D combo guard that would fit well with Jackson assuming we let him play the point forward role he excels in.

I'll be honest, I'm a little more optimistic about most of our core players than most of us on here. Drummond, I think deserves one more year to prove us that he can't put it together before we trade him. However I think Jackson needs to go. He's proved that he's a negative presence, both in the locker room and 75% of the on the court when he's "injured". He isn't a leader, and had become almost the opposite. As impossible as it would be, I would love Chris Paul on our team and us go pg fishing in the draft for the future. He'd bring a true vet presence and is one of the best pass first pg in the league. However I'll wake up one of these days and he'll be a spur.

I wish. Maybe if the Sun's are desperate for a young center we could do Drummond and #12 for Chandler and #4.

I would rather keep 12 maybe Drummond for #4 Chandler and Knight.

I really don't see any way Drummond gets us #4, Chandler, Knight and Chriss maybe, I'd be ok with that I think.
