You're giving Drummond way too much credit. He sucks on defense. Constantly out of position, a lot of times going for steals, even if the guys in front of him aren't imitating turnstiles. Doesn't have the instincts to be a presence at the rim. That is pretty clear when watching him. And even though Andre has the athleticism and ability to move his feet and guard on the perimeter, he is extremely hesitant to do so.
This doesn't add up to a decent defender or at least somebody you could have faith in becoming one. The tools are there, but the biggest part of the equation (his brain) isn't.
No PG at 12 in this draft, what would you do?

Re: No PG at 12 in this draft, what would you do?
Zach Collins because I have huge concerns about Drummond's level of commitment
Donovan Mitchell because he seems skilled enough to play the one with the strength and athleticism of a two
Luke Kenard because he's got size and he can shoot
I'm way less confident about our team going into this offseason. The 12th pick is going to be a savior. We don't have the cash or the attractive culture to draw a premiere free agent. So the majority of our success is resting on internal improvement or any Jedi mind tricks Bowers can pull off for a trade.
If Drummond gets a sense of urgency and Reggie returns to form, we're potentially a top 4 team in the East. But we desperately need improvements from all rotational players in their individual skills and a greater commitment to defense. Watching Cleveland and Golden State get after it on the defensive end, shows me how far away we really are.

honestly, I still think Frank Ntilikina or Dennis Smith is going to fall to us. the mock draft I see happening is:
1 Fultz
2 Ball
3 Monk
4 Jackson
5 Fox
6 Tatum
7 Issac
8 Frank or Smith
9 Markkanen
10 Anunoby
11 Collins
12 Frank or Smith
1 Fultz
2 Ball
3 Monk
4 Jackson
5 Fox
6 Tatum
7 Issac
8 Frank or Smith
9 Markkanen
10 Anunoby
11 Collins
12 Frank or Smith

I think Mitchell is also a wildcard to go top 11. I could easily see someone falling in love with his "Russ Westbrook - lite" potential.

That's high for Anunoby. Is his stock rising?

if its frank, let ish finish out his contract and have him develop. if its Smith, trade Ish with Morris, Leuer and possible future picks for a power foward upgrade, like an Ibaka, Aldridge or someone who can face up and spread.

draft express has him going at 13, I have seen him gone from 13-19, the Kings need a Sf and Pg and Fox is going to fall to them at 5. if not Anunoby then Justin Jackson.

I could see it happening with Sacramento. If they go with a PG at 5 Jackson, Tatum, and Isaac are most likely going to be off the board at 10. Anunoby, Jackson, and maybe Kurucs are the next best bets at SF and are the only options if the Kings want one.
Depends on how strongly they go for need versus BPA. They are building around Hield, Labissiere, Cauley-Stein, and maybe Papagiannis as well as Richardson. After PG Sacramento needs a wing or two more than another big with the way the NBA is going. Anunoby especially makes sense to me. But again, depends on where the King's need versus BPA chart stacks up. Markkanen fits if he falls too, and they might be fine with taking Jackson/Tatum/Isaac at 5 and then whatever PG falls to 10. From a value standpoint that's the best route.

Re: No PG at 12 in this draft, what would you do?
Drummond has shown crazy Defensive potential. Go watch one of the games verse Portland this year. Think it was the 2ot one? Might of just been one ot with Mccollum being red hot. Drummond was all over the place. Now can he did it consistently idk, he for sure doesn't, it'd be nice to have a PG who can keep their man i front of them most of the time

Eh, to me that's pretty much the same thing as cherry-picking some of Caldwell-Pope's games and saying he has crazy shooting potential. It's just not who he is. Streaky is the best you can hope for. And good defense (or offense) just isn't who Andre is. He will have the odd game of looking like a beast, but far more often than not he will be lost and reaching for steals.
This isn't something I feel very cautious saying. Drummond sucks defensively, and will be a negative on that side of the ball his whole career.
