Jimmy Butler is not worth that at.all. And no that team still isn't winning a championship and the Celtics would have no future to improve on.

Porzingis, Smart, Crowder and Bradley are all in their prime or entering their prime. Paul is as good as he's ever been and Horford is a crafty player who will age well. I like this team especially because it matches up so well against the two beasts (Golden State and Cleveland). We could scale it back and not do the Porzingis deal and therefore keep the Brooklyn 18 pick and Brown; however, we would have to find another big somewhere to go along with Horford and Zizic.

For a moment I thought there was actually some type of news/leak/rumor about this. Then I clicked in here.

Sorry, should have labelled it hypothetical. Basic premise: we are far more likely to win a championship with a 33 year old Paul than a 29 year old Thomas.

I'm not one to bash threads but I'm gonna make an acception here. This is a bad thread cause it's just a (Barkley accent) Turrible, Turrible idea. I'm without words.

For Chris Paul - yes. He is a different level of player who has never relied on his athleticism. I have the absolute opposite feeling about Thomas.

Just trying to figure out a way we can vie for a championship without hitting a home run in Fultz or 2018 Brooklyn pick...seems like we are unlikely to figure out a path unless NO agrees to a trade for AD. Still hopeful that Fultz/Brk 18 less Thomas, Bradley, Olynyk and Smart can deliver.

Atleast try to consider the fact that we have essentially zero control over Smart, Olynyk, Thomas and Bradley over the next 13 months. Maybe an aging superstar is better than other options. It worked with Allen and KG.

So the Celtics (rightfully) wouldn't give up this years nets pick for Butler without it being top pick protected. And now that they actually got #1... they should trade that pick, AND an all nba 2nd team player, plus filler for Butler?

Not to be rude but that's beyond ridiculous and would be up there with the worst moves we'd ever see. I'm open to trading Isaiah, but if we trade him then you damn well better keep the pick and take Fultz.

In my opinion Chris Paul is an undoubtebly better option than Gordon Hayward. I have much more confidence in Paul and I have zero confidence in getting value out of resigning Thomas or Bradley. I can understand staying the course with draft picks, but Chris Paul brings us much closer to a championship than Gordon Hayward. It's a HOFer vs. a very good player.

I'm not saying we should do those exact trades; however, if we can get Butler for less than great. I don't venture us getting anything for Thomas at this point in his contract so it's more or less move him or lose him. It would be irresponsible to resign him for close to max.
