I'm fine with it.

Plus the UFC needs bodies at 205 now that their entire roster went to bellator.

Jasen777 wrote:So the UFC signed a 33 year old who's 0-1 in MMA, will be fighting at LHW. Gokhan Saki, an accomplished kickboxer. I wonder if he'll be on that Dana White's Tuesday fightpass thing, either way I guess they have to sign more prospects so he can fight somebody.

Accomplished doesn't describe the half of it. He is close to legend status.

The guy is like 5'4'' but has fought at HW cos HW is sorta the only division in K-1. Meanwhile, despite that, he's given crazy showings against every last HW fighter of the past 15 years.

Because MMA has a 205 division wher ehe can make money, he'll be able to fight at a sensible weight. He's been greatly hampered fighting, like, Semmy Schilt and stuff.

That said, he's way past his prime. He has been training grappling for years on the side, I'm sure, but he's still going to have only a couple years left and nowhere near enough time to add dimensions. Joe Schilling-type move, I think. A quick buck at the tail-end of a kickboxing career where he has nowhere to go. It makes sense for HIM, how it makes sense for the UFC, I'm not sure. It's the type of signing Bellator makes, the UFC has shown little sign of doing things like this.

He's a karate guy, BTW, so may have a better chance at pre-empting takedowns with a lot of front leg work.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Speaking of not staying retired, Vitor is already talking about how he feels like a kid again and doesn't think this is necessarily his last fight lol.

He was always going to be that dude who hung on for too long imo.

Anybody think Charlie Zelenoff has a real chance for greatness in MMA?

There is a promo code for a free month of fight pass with the promo code "stockholm". Saw it on another forum, worked for me, thought I'd give you dudes a heads up.

Mighty Mouse on his situation:

Other than "because they can" I don't know why the UFC treats their fighters like this.

Does anyone else kind of miss the Joe/Goldy combination?

Shocked to hear myself say that.

That mm post was huge! Have never seen a back and forth dialogue laid out like that... take the fight or we'll scrap the division. Dana is such a snake. He's been getting exposed a lot lately from a number of high level fighters. Mm is 100% on everything.
Promotion, being a company man and being one of the greatest fighters the organization has ever seen and he still
Gets zero respect. I can't believe this story hasn't blown up huge tbh

It's a reporter quoting Might Mouse from the MMA Hour - "They said it's either TJ or we close the flyweight division. And I said, 'close the **** division then."

If I was DJ I 'd have said "do that and I'll sue for employee status".

They handled it just amazingly bad. Might Mouse only got pissed because Dana was like "This is what TJ wants". And MM was still willing to do the fight with sufficient guarantees in place. I don't get this in the first place from the UFC since it puts the Cody/TJ fight at risk, or if TJ won he's not staying in the division...

I don't, didn't like Goldy at all. Though I don't think I like the 3 man booths either.

I don't like the 3 man booths and Anik is boring to me. By the end I almost found Goldy's little hiccups endearing (he choked him out with a kimura, Joe!).

Maybe its just nostalgia.

I'm ok with a boring play by play guy. Anik/Rogan and Anik/Stann are fine with me. I think DC is bad in the booth, maybe Cruz would be ok in a 2 man booth.

IDK. I feel like I am more likely to disagree with the opinions of a Dom or a DC, but I also feel like I'm much more likely to learn something or have my attention drawn to something I didn't notice by one of those two. I don't really feel like Stann brings too much as the color guy, kind of a low risk/low reward type thing with him IME.

I feel like if Mouse came out and said "I'd fight TJ if im guaranteed my money if he misses weight" I'd feel a lot more likely to believe him.

As is, all he did was say there was no way he should fight TJ, because Ray Borg deserves it (a guy who missed weight multiple times.)

It seems like he only came out saying he wanted TJ after all the backlash.

The UFC isn't right either, but I still feel like Mighty Mouse doesn't really want TJ because he wants an easier fight to get the record.

He did say that, didn't he? Although he may have demanded both of their purses. IDK, its in the instagram text.

I'm 90% on board with the Mouse against the UFC here. Here is my ONLY issue with Mouse: He is railing against the fact that TJ wouldn't have earned the FLW shot and that's why he won't fight him. However, he has also said he would like to fight the BW champ after breaking the record. Now, obviously DJ has had BW fights in the past, but that was yearssss ago by this point and obviously he would be jumping the queue himself in that situation. That's a little hypocritical IMO.

He said he wanted TJ's purse also if he didn't make weight, which financially for DJ is like getting a win bonus I guess. And that was after Dana guaranteed TJ would make weight. Then Dana backtracked and said Borg would be on the card too and he could fight him instead, but DJ doesn't want to have to train for two opponents.

As for the jumping the line part, DJ had said it'd be different if it's champion vs. champion, so it's only maybe hypocritical.
