Typical, under rate other team's players and over rate ours.
Russell is as old as Booker and has shown star-qualities.
He's a proven "good" young players as opposed to whomever is picked at 4. But I do like Josh Jackson.
I am sorry, Russell is not a proven pick yet. He has yet to show anything but flashes. He has, however, shown huge immaturity and alienated his teammates.
The stats for Russell v Booker are deceiving. I think you have to take volume into account - Booker has been a go-to player on this team, playing #1 option. So while their EFG% are similar, and D-Lo the better rebounder/thief, it's unclear if he's really elite in any respect. True go-to players are so rare, and so crucial. Kristaps hasn't shown he's one yet, which is why I put Booker over him. Booker is a flawed player, but he's "the man". If he gets up to average in various other categories, and if we can put other solid pieces around him, his talent is of a type that can catapult us into contention. Harden and Westbrook are similar in that they're elite, but flawed. Kawhi, Durant and Lebron are on a level above that - elite and NOT flawed. Curry stands alone atop a different pedestal - beyond elite, but still somewhat flawed. Nash was like that for a time.
... In any case, I don't think D-Lo is the right add for this team. We need defense at the 1. We may be better off running with Bled and Ulis at the 1. Ulis backed up by Fox also works for me. Or Bled and Ulis, with Ntilikina competing with Barbosa for the 4th/5th guard spot.
... Also, glad to see we have additional converts to the Church of Zach Collins. Chooo chooo!!!
