Some people think bc of Gobert Jeanne will have the same success, all I see is a raw and tall. I like Hartstein more than Jeanne and the word is Josh doesn't get much playing time.

I don't know why but when I look at Jeanne I think more of Hasheem Thabeet than Gobert, I'm not sure why, but I'm really not keen on him

I think we can draft Semi or Bacon by buying a 2nd rounder
I'm all in for drafting one modern big, but we shouldn't pick two. These finals are again an example of in which direction the league is trending and bigs are kind of redundant now. We should use the opportunity to pick one 6'6-6'9 player.
I can see Marks moving up into the early second round as well.
Process wrote:Another guy I'm starting to get big on is Jonah Bolden, I don't know heaps about him but put up good numbers in Serbia, good size, is he a reach at 22/27?
I'm very bullish on Bolden's draft stock as well and wouldn't mind picking him at 27. I think he's flying under the radar. He has recently won the best young player award in the Serbian league just like Jokic, Nurkic and Zizic before. He has a modern NBA skill set and could be a valuable player in the small ball era.

im nto big on jeane. again the guy is a complete turnover machine and seems super raw. if we can get him in the second round with a purchased pick sure. to me he is like diallo. people want to project super high ceiling on him because he will be in our range.

i remeber watching the hoston v. arkansas game. he plays pretty big for a short dude. he has like 13 rebounds or something that game. dont really know anything about him other then that. but seems like the kind of hard working guy they might like

Re: Brooklyn Nets 2017 Draft Thread
I heard last night, that Nets have scheduled a workout for another Latvian player Rolands Smits, who might be a very late 2nd round pick.
6'10'', 237 lbs will be 22 years old on the draft day, playing as a 3 in the ACB league, avg almost 8 points and 3.5 rebounds this season. What can I say about him, very very very athletic player.
What's the deal with Nets taking a close look at the Latvian players?

Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

Re: Brooklyn Nets 2017 Draft Thread
Draft express has us taking Jeane/Ojeleye/Thornwell
despite not being high on jeane id be thrilled with this because i think Ojeleye is going to be a legit NBA starter and 2 way guy who you can play big or small with and thornwell is just a winning type player. you stash jeane and hope in 3 or 4 years he is closer to gobet then thabeet.
I hope we can also buy up in round 2. would love to take devin robinson. guy is going to be a good nba player off someones bench for a long long time. one of those guys who in 6 years you are like "wish we had someone like him, how did he go so late"
really hope nets are on the Semi train.... i know that unlike most teams his age wont matter... they took levert last year at 22 years old as well. Semi has big potential. you cant teach his size/strength/athleticism and he is already a hard worker and great three point shooter. the other stuff you can teach. i think his ceiling is as high as a poor mans jimmy butler (less handle)
we need to get semi on this roster.

Re: Brooklyn Nets 2017 Draft Thread
you think LeVert/Semi could develop into a good wing combo?
I'm with it if you're big on him, I'll roll with it, I haven't seen much of him but if you dig him he probably plays hard and competes. You were on the money about Whitehead last summer.

he defintely plays hard... and he has size. im not sure if he is a wing or a PF in the NBA. he could go either way. i think its a good fit with RHJ since they can both play either spot.
but 40 inch vert, 45% from three, and led NCAA and FG% on pick and pop. built like jimmy butler. he is maybe the 1 guy i realistically think we could land at 22/27 id be excited about (i dont think OG/Giles/Patton would fall there).
kenny would have alot to work with with this kid

Brooklyn Nets 2017 Draft Thread
ESPN has us taking Justin Patton at 22 and Terence Ferguson at 27. I'd be ecstatic at any combination of that or the Latvians.
DraftExpress might be showing us why they've been bad at mock predictions. What's the likelihood of Marks passing on Kurucs, Pasecniks, Ferguson, etc for Jeanne? It's Unlikely and I don't ever recall seeing anyone from our organization scout him. I could see us going after Semi but I see him being that 3rd prospect we trade Booker for and land with the Blazer pick.

Eh... Historically Draft Express has been much more accurate with their mock drafts than any other site.

Holy Christ... patton was the #1 guy on my board for non lotto players and the guy ive wanted since day one. him and fergeson would be unreal.
these mocks are tough... its less based on rankings and more based on inside info

I think we can agree that getting Patton at 22 and Semi at 27 would be the best case scenario in this draft. However, both might be gone by those respective picks, especially Ojeleye IMO.
I saw a report the other day that the centers/ bigs in this years draft are bound to drop because there's just so many projected to go in the 11-25 range and so many teams already have a starter cemented. That's what scares me the most about Ojeleye going higher than 27.
Honestly if Patton is gone by 22 and if it were up to me I would take Ojeleye just be safe and then BPA with 27 or a eurostash

Do you think he's too undersized to be a PF or does his vertical and strength make up for it?

his verticle doesnt make up for it so much as his bulk and strength does. RHJ played OF and semi is the same height only strong and more athletic

DX has their top 100 prospects list as well. It's a nice contrast to the "inside info" mocks, especially because that inside info is likely leaked by player agents.

I know nothing other than what I've read, but Derrick White is a seemingly interesting system fit as a sharp shooting combo guard, who seems to have climbed up the draft boards.
