It would be nice but right now I am still in the frame of mind that I would trade the 4th and next years Miami pick to move up to get Jackson.
No way.
You understand that due to the heat clearing Bosh off their books they are going to have over 35 million to spend on bring in talent for next year and the pick is top 7 protected. So likely they are going to be pushing to get in the playoffs next year. 14th + picks are nice but when you can add a player like Jackson who fits so many things that the team needs over a dream of some player next year I would do it.

I am afraid of Ball.

You never know with Miami. First off, I would never trade the unprotected pick a few years from now. I would consider trading next year's due to the protection, but I doubt I would do it to move up 1 spot in this draft unless something unexpected happens, such as Fultz or Ball falling. Jackson is a great player, but I wouldn't trade a late lotto or high playoff type pick to get him when there are guys at 4 (Isaac, Smith, Fox) who have just as good of odds of being a star imo.
Also, they haven't been getting all of the free agents they want since Lebron left, and the way Wade and Bron left make it arguably less attractive to an FA. That team has a lot locked into a couple of questionable guys, and Winslow doesn't look like the destined star many thought at the time of the draft.
They will have to pay to keep some guys who played well for them last year (Waiters, for instance), and I just don't see that team morphing into a contender. My hope is they use up their cap space on non-franchise guys, leaving them in playoff limbo for the next few years and horrible the year we have the unprotected pick.

The real difference between Jackson and Smith and Fox is that Jackson doesnt have to be the center of the offensive to make an impact. Fox is years away from being able to play his current game in the NBA (adding 30 lbs of muscle doesnt happen overnight) and Smith has to show that he is going to make any effort to improve his game and become a playmaker for me to even think of him with a lottery pick. Jackson will go out and make an impact with his steals, blocks, defense and slashing to the basket without a play being run for him.

Helps us a ton either way. If Fox is drafted Ball or Jackson falls, if not, we get 5 and 10.....and don't lose the guy we want unless we want Fox.
Exactly. So I look at it like this:
A. The draft goes as expected, Fultz/Ball/Jackson and we can then trade our pick to Sacramento and end up with Tatum or Monk while also getting Collins or Ntilikina.
B. Lakers end up taking Fox over Ball and that leaves us Jackson or Ball.
C. Philly plays the game and trades them the #3 and we still land Jackson.
It's seriously a win-win-the if the story is correct, and I'm guessing it is.

The guy is a 6'6" pure pass first point guard with great athleticism. He has an ugly shot but has proven he can knock it down from way deep. Going forward I think its pretty obvious Booker is going to be a ball dominant 2 guard averaging 25-30 ppg, this means the rest of the team is going to need a facilitator to get them easy buckets as well as a point guard to hit the open 3 when booker is double teamed which Ball should be able to do with ease. The idea of Ball running a fast break with the option of a Booker/Bender pull up 3 or a Chriss dunk has me salivating.

Tatum gives us another iso scorer.
Jackson gives us another possible playmakrer
Issac gives us another front line freak of nature.
So interesting.
