I think we should not have had so many players in the poll. Obviously I would not want Collins, the French PG, and some others at 4 before Issac, but between players realistically valued at 4, it would be Issac. Pool should be

Tatum
Monk
Issac
Fox

I'll be shocked if Isaac goes down here. I think he's a real possibility for us at #4 - especially if the FO believes (as many here do) that Bender's future is at the 5.

The point is to make a longer list to get a better idea of where the board is at with respect to a whole range of prospects. If those are the 4 at the end of this process, we'll get to that shortlist eventually.

My current overall board is:
1. Ball
2. Fultz
3. Z. Collins
4. Isaac
5. Tatum
6. Jackson

But I'm an extreme outlier.

Don't want Monk. He and Booker would never work. 0 defense or plamaking.

Let's see, I guess I'd say my least favorite choice at 4 would be anyone that's not from Finland. But if I had to narrow it down further, I'd say a big NO to Dennis Smith, or at least his knees.

Everyone besides Jackson and Tatum. But especially Frank Ntilikina.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

This third vote already looks pretty clear cut.

What I really like about these polls is how they reflect rumors and evaluator sentiment changing leading up to draft day. Isaac is liked by quite a few metrics and the board's mood on him has changed. Fun to watch. It'll be interesting to see how our board stacks up against the draft itself.

1. Ball - He won't make it. Too slow and funky shot. He's going to get eaten alive at NBA speed.
2. Monk - I think he will become a sparkplug 6th man. But the chances he becomes the next Gilbert Arenas are slim.
3. Dennis Smith - The ACL injury is still a killer and players who tear it once usually tear it again.

I'm open to any player on the current list if that's the direction we go but I have the most pre-draft concerns about Isaac.

Now that it's down to 6, I think Fox can't be any higher than 6 on my list. Of course any of the top 8 or so could end up the best player in the draft, and I'm sure there are others ranked lower who will surprise, but based on our needs and me not thinking there is much separation between those up there, I think Fox has to rank last.

Since it's becoming less and less clear that there is any BPA at any given spot, and our needs are wing defense, passing and shooting, I don't see how Fox solves any of those issues. I won't be that disappointed if we end up with him because McD knows more than me, and is usually pretty good with his picks in the lottery after his first try (which you can get a pass for because there were no standout players most all the scouts or even teams drafting had at the top.

It will be interesting to see how different this way of trying to rank board consensus works out, because really divisive players could end up really high or really low. Ball clearly won 2nd when I took Fultz off after winning first but since he has a lot of people who are not fans, he very well could finish lower when the voting is done based on who the board doesn't want.

How, on any planet in the universe, is Lonzo Ball slow? I get not liking his shot, but there is no nba measure by which he is slow.

He's not "slow" but by NBA standards, he sure isn't fast.

Well, it seems to continue to be the same....when I did the polls, one at a time, before we knew our pick, Fultz killed the field in votes, and then Ball killed the field in votes (once removing Fultz in a new vote), and the Jackson killed the field in votes (once removing Fultz and Ball) and then I think it got fairly close, but Tatum one, and then after he was removed, it was extremely split.

I have Isaac sixth for various reasons, none of which may be good. But as between Tatum and Fox, I have:

In Fox's favor, (a) the budding rivalry between Ball and Fox and (b) the idea that taking Fox would serve as a pretense for trading Eric, which appears prudent based on several factors.
In Tatum's favor, I have only BPA, if indeed he is BPA.

I have imagined a scenario in which TJ can be moved as part of a large deal, perhaps along with Knight and Chandler, that returns us real value. Depending on the return, I could see taking Tatum in that scenario. Otherwise, if our scouts are on the fence as between Fox and Tatum, I draft Fox and trade Eric.

I'm going to go back and reconsider my take on DSJ.** I've stated elsewhere that TJ is the core player whose future I'm most immediately concerned about after the draft. DSJ and TJ attended the same school. Though ball-dominant, if DSJ were truly effective, perhaps he could help open things up for TJ. I've just never bought into that style of PG, and I doubt his mental makeup. I'll look one last time; otherwise, I've ended up close to where the rest of the world has landed, with Ball/Fultz/Jackson top 3, then Tatum/Fox, then Collins, then Isaac/Monk.

**EDIT: Reconsidered. No way do I take DSJ ahead of Fox. Holding firm to a strong "no" on DSJ.
