Howard can't even make free throws (53.3% last year), so how is he going to make 3-pointers? Gortat should just stay in his lane considering his ability to make shots beyond five feet is not so great, though at least he is a decent FT shooter. I think if you are a strong mid-range shooter like Jason Smith, why not try to extend your range, but if you can't make long 2's, how are you going to make 3's?

Gortat would be more successful at that than Howard

Seriously what is that man thinking? Bigs shoot 3s now, better shoot them too even though i cant hit a free throw!

Just do you. Be Dwight. Big bodied shotblockers with somewhat of a post game are still extremely valuable to a team. Maybe a better course of action would be to learn to DEFEND the 3 ball.
