It's truly a win-win situation for the Lakers.
A) Celtics draft Fultz, we draft Ball. - WIN
B) Celtics draft Ball, we trade Fultz and Deng for 5 and 10. - WIN
I was going to reply that there's no way lakers trade their pick like this, but it makes sense honestly if the kings are conveying to Fultz camp that they want a workout cause they might be trading up.
For the Celtics, they can just pick whoever they want, it's not complicated. For the lakers though, if they really want ball, it make sense that they have contingencies in the event he's not there. Explains why they're making it seem like LA's workout was unimpressive, specially since Boston isn't going to get their own look.
If Ball is gone though and lakers are not in love with Fultz, may be there's a framework being discussed with sac to make that trade which is why sac is reaching out to Fultz. I mean, sac has to feel like they have a shot at a top 2 pick if they are trying to get a Fultz workout.
