Honestly I still hope we use this pick for Paul George. Magic should throw a reasonable offer to Indiana's way. I think we can shed cap in that trade as well, with #2 pick, Clarkson, and Moz for Paul George.

There's a whole lot of FO posturing and media click baiting going on. I fully expect the Lakers to draft Ball.

If the Suns take Fox then we would have both.

I would imagine if they were serious about drafting someone else there would be dinners planned and separate meetings to get to know players off the court. Until then, it's hard to believe they're serious about drafting anyone other than Ball

It's truly a win-win situation for the Lakers.
A) Celtics draft Fultz, we draft Ball. - WIN
B) Celtics draft Ball, we trade Fultz and Deng for 5 and 10. - WIN
I'd be totally okay with this scenario. Draft Monk and Markannen. Finally get some shooting on this roster.

Btw, I'm curious to see what the next week of draft workouts hold.
Players I'd like to see them workout:
- Malik Monk
- Lauri Markannen
- Jonathan Isaac
- Harry Giles
- Devin Robinson
- Caleb Swanigan

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Thread: Lakeshow edition
Everyone is enamored and sold on Ball but speaking from a long term perspective, I'm not sure who the best player out of the top 5 consensus picks will be.
I'm not suggesting we don't take either of those two if they are available but I have sneaking suspicion that the best player to come out of this draft won't be Fultz or Ball.
I think someone's weakness' in that 3 to 9 range is being overblown. I just don't know who it is.

Starting to get a bad feeling that Celtics are going to take ball.

It's fine! We'll get Markelle Fultz then. Both players are going to be special! I'm just happy we have a pick this year.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Thread: Lakeshow edition
Yeah we can only hope he falls to us. Unfortunately that won't happen. Even Woj is certain that the Celtics will keep the pick and take Fultz.
We'll likely take Ball. If not I can see us trade down possibly with the Kings

If the Celtics take Ball we get the best player in the draft in Fultz. Trust me they do us the favor. Don't fall for all this doom and gloom about Ball. The LA golden boy narrative causes people to overlook his negatives and the fact that the Lakers seemed to have come out as not in love with him post workout supports this. Or it could all be a smokescreen. Either way between the two players Fultz is more of the sure thing regardless of the team drafting them.

I just wonder how long the Celtics are going to take before they take care of that log jam. If they are committed to Isaiah they are going to have to field calls for Smart, Bradley, and Brown.

I think they know they can't win a Title with Thomas as their best player.

I think they're better off trading Isaiah, but his contract is such a bargain it will make it hard to get value. Brown is still on a rookie contract so no need to trade him. Smart and Bradley are the guys they to move. Remember there still in the position to sign Hayward and trade for Butler or George.
