Interesting chart.

Only thing I'll say is it doesn't demonstrate how insanely good Kyrie and Lillard are at generating offense under pressure.

And Payton's offensive rating doesn't really make sense.

It's strange seeing Westbrook and Harden on the good offense + defense side of the chart. At least Steph gets a good number of steals. I guess their offense is so good that it takes the opposing player's offense out the game since they have to use plenty energy guarding them.

Not discussing the accuracy of the chart, although just the notion of James Harden being one of the better guard defenders and Deron being better than Rubio and Schroeder is laughable, but what are you trying to prove with this - that Mudiay is worse than vet starting PGs in the league?
Well, of course, and stats don't favor him due to number of TOs (while some guys benefit from smaller sample size and role, like Ferell). That's why I repeated several times he is 21, most of his mistakes are due to being inexperienced and put in pretty tough spot with pretty high expectation (reaching PO in his 1st season).

But I was talking about his potential, and that's not something that is present in past season stats. But if you are such a fan of it, check his per 100 possession stats towards the end of season, when put in more suiting lineup:

Just for the end, what kind of guy would you have in mind when looking for a trade? I think two very talented guys, one of whom is already pretty efficient player in the league, and other pretty talented youngster, is a good return for three role players and a pick.

We'd have to put together strong pack just to get a vet like Rubio (I like him as a player), reducing our cap space and losing more or less all assets. This addresses more of it and longer term.

If Detroit is looking to get out that Dromond contract...I would consider it. I would give them Mirtic and Lopez for Dromond. Not sure that is enough...but next to Rondo

Drummond is not worth his contract.

No thanks on paying that much for a center not named Demarcus.

I'd do RoLo and 16 for Melo and Hernangomez.

Proposed Trade Idea

Post#69 » by Xthren » Mon Jun 12, 2017 10:12 pm

Greetings I am a Jazz fan so I want to get that out of the way at first. I really want to see the Jazz trying and build a team to compete with the warriors. (I know but have to try)

I know there have been rumors circling with Jimmy Butler and I think he would be an amazing compliment to Gordon hayward.

So would bulls fans accept a trade of

Jimmy Butler for

Rodney Hood
Dante Exum
Alec Burks
Trey Lyles
2 future first round draft picks

The Good thing would be sending him to the west where you would only have to face him twice a year. You get a ton of young talent to rebuild.

Whatever involves Jimmy Butler. No. If they want to that package for Payne and Grant. Go ahead

Those picks are not very attractive and will be worth even less with Jimmy on your team.

I like Hood though, don't think the rest is enough to sway me.

You have any future draft picks worth a bit more?

This certainly isn't horrible value. Would any of the first round picks be this year? Anybody else you could put in there instead of Alec Burks--like maybe Jeff Withey?

No.

Butler has been linked to rumors with Boston & LA with the #1 , #2 picks, there's really no reason to trade Butler for anything less than a top 5 pick.

And the Jazz future picks with Butler on the team will be absolutely terrible, probably in the #25 range.

I see young players, but not talent.

Rodney Hood is turning 25 next season and probably doesn't fit in a tanking strategy.
I didn't really like Dante Exum pre-ACL injury, and certainly don't like him now.
Alec Burks is bad, damaged, and will be making 12 per for the next two years. Completely unmovable.
Trey Lyles is interesting, but can't find court time even on a team lacking in perimeter shooting... Seems just like a Summer League All-Star.
The 2 future firsts will be late round picks.

So essentially this is a deal for 2 damaged high picks that didn't pan out, 1 late round pick that has played slightly over his draft position, 1 mid-round pick that is still a mystery going into year 3, and 2 late round picks.

It's a hard pass for me.

Probably not now. Bulls can feel market to see if Minny would give Dunn + pic + asset, or Suns 4 + Bender, etc.

If Bulls are out of it mid-season and have no better takers, maybe they would consider that deal...

Looks like they have 24, 30, & 42 this year, OKCs 1st next (lotto pro) and all their picks (likely all late 1sts). Nothing of high value, all those prospects are meh, no potential all-stars imo. It's a pass for me.

FYI, moved this thread to the trade thread. Feel free to discuss there.

If Exum was looking like a better prospect there'd be a possibility, but right now I don't think any of these guys/picks are good enough to trade JB for.

Gotta get atleast 1 legit young guy and a early lotto pick for Jimmy, anything else is icing on the cake.

I know (like most of us) that the Bulls are going to bring the band back; unfortunately. But I've been doing some thinking and have come to conclusion I don't need an amazing off-season. But if they're going to bring back the 3 alphas I want to see something along these lines happening.

Let Niko and anyone else that's expiring walk out of Chicago sans Felicio. Morrow, Mirotic, MCW. Which frees up roughly 14 million before resigning Felicio plus the projected 14.8 million or so after letting everyone walk out (I could be wrong). This is jut to my understanding.

Bring in a few players that haven't reached their ceilings may even be considered under achievers so far. But at least they're young, have upside and you're not paying for past performance. I'd personally like to Jerami Grant, Shabazz Muhammad, Terrance Jones and Alex Len.

Say they land 3 of the 4 in Jones, Muhammad and Grant. All should come reasonably by this market's standards. Then in the draft they land Zach Collins (I think they will fall in love with him and try their damndest to get him) and Frank Jackson in the 2nd. Then the lineup looks something to the effect of.

PG-Rondo/Jerian/Payne/Jackson
SG-Valentine/Wade/Shabazz
SF-JGB/Zipser/Jerami
PF-Bobby/Jones/Collins
C-RoLo/Felicio

Younger, much more athletic. Still basketball purgatory. But more fun to watch I'd think. But then again I'm probably wrong and nothing if not an idiot.
