I like players who can "boogie" on a defender and his. But the college game is a totally different sport. If you don't have that burst to beat a superior athlete, that "boogie" goes away in the pros. If he can't get around or over his defender in the pros, that "Boogie" don't mean nothin'.

I think he has first step quickness to be able to beat his man without boogying.

I don't question his ability to hit shots from distance. I'm just not sold on his stability as a shooter. He shot nearly 42% from three in February. But the other three months of the season, he was 30% or under from deep. I think he'll always be more comfortable unassisted in the mid-range as a scorer. I don't think that style of scoring is effective or appealing. There's a reason why he was 6th on Duke in OBPM despite being their 2nd leading scorer.

This year, Jayson Tatum and Dwayne Bacon were very similar offensive players. Volume stats with inefficient playing styles.

Tatum has good length for a 3 and a great mobes offensively. Over 80 percent from the line and developing 3 PT game. Very nice piece next to Simmons and Embiid. I get the hesitancy over Jackson, but if you balance out their strengths and weaknesses they are pretty even.

But if you look at Tatum from Feb to season end, he's a 37.7% 3FG on 4.6 3FGA per game. That February stretch was the most 3FGA he took than any month (5.4 attempts) and was the highest percentage (42%). I know, definition of streaky, but much better than the beginning of the season, coming off injury and adjusting to a new team (3.4 attempt per game; 29%). I do believe that needs to be discounted a bit.

Also, Bacon is a sophomore. He's had an entire year of developing over Tatum to be the scorer Tatum currently is.

Philly, Orlando and Minnesota are tough landing spots for Tatum. All three are bottom 10 in isolation sets run. He would have to convert to a structured scheme instead of adopting his playing style from college into the pros.

His best chance of thriving early would be for New York or Dallas to trade up and grab him. Both Top 5 in isolation sets run.

I'd still probably lean Fultz at #3. His skill level is significant, even if his athleticism is only ordinary.

No, not really. There were guys high on him here, way before me. At the start of the season, I said he'd have to be the second coming of Christ Paul for me to even consider drafting him in the top 3 picks. Not enough length and coming off injury. Then I saw all of the other guys about a half dozen times each and had to take it back.

DSJ went up my board. Isaac went waaaay up. Jackson and Ball stayed about the same. Fultz went down based on what I saw of him in games.

Well with the earlier report it seems likely that he has been promised by either Boston or LA, which means we get Fultz or Ball. I'll be thrilled with either but I'm hoping LA takes him and we get Ball.

Why would he cancel his workout with the team with the top pick, then? He wouldn't cancel it if Philly promised to pick him third, however I could imagine him cancelling it if LA promised to pick him second.

Guys with promises cancel workouts for teams that pick after the promise, not before.

My guess is it's a scheduling or physical issue.
