Re: Mock Off-Season: Free Agency Final Day
I've inputed all of these moves in a NBA 2K franchise mode... early observations...
EASTERN CONFERENCE
*Pistons roster is loaded with talent, just need to fill out the bench
*76ers going with a serious youth movement in the starting 5, showing great potential in future but not so much this season
*Bulls are one piece away from being a top 4 EC team
*Cavaliers trading Love for a non all star might hurt them in long run
*Celtics retooling gonna put pressure on young bucks to perform
*New York has potential but seriously in need of an attacking scoring guard
*Orlando with a nice youth movement, need to just fix logjam at center
*Nets will once again be bottom feeders unless they strike gold on one of their rookies
*Pacers shuffled guys around, gonna need Turner to take a big step up to contend
*Wizards took one step forward and two steps back for in trading away Beal but acquiring Love unless D-Wade goes ham in the playoffs
*Hornets, Hawks and Bucks relying on chemistry to help take the next step
*Raptors in a rough spot until Ibaka situation gets settled, if they lose out on him it could be rough next season
*Heat looked like a team with no plan BUT I feel like new GM gonna make the right moves to fix it
WESTERN CONFERENCE
*Spurs made the biggest splace of FA but remains to be seen if moving Aldridge was the right move come playoff time
*Kings are finally in a proper rebuild mode, with a decent core of Buddy, Fox, Jackson, Skal and WCS
*Nuggest finally upgraded the PG spot but gonna need someone to replace Danilo and Bartons scoring
*Peilicans are a serious darkhorse if they can stay healthy, just a couple shooters away from being completed
*Suns have a nice core going forward and on the right track with their rebuild
*Thunder did a great job retooling around RW, just need to figure out what theyre gonna do at the PF spot to complete roster
*Grizzlies made some extreme moves that might hurt them next season but help in the long run, pressure is on Conley
*Twolves made good moves to improve weaknesses, should make playoff push if Wiggins and KAT keep progressing
*Lakers and Mavericks look like bottom dwellers again, which I understand from the Mavs POV but Lakers seem to be ok with handing PHI a top 5 pick next season unless huge progress from young core
*Trailblazers, Rockets and Jazz reloaded nicely, no reason not to see them as playoff teams again with top 4 seed potential
*Warrior still king of the castle
*Clippers in a rough spot losing best player with nothing in return, lets see what team they can put together before its over to judge

Re: Mock Off-Season: Free Agency Final Day
Bulls would like to make Cam Payne and Jerian Grant available. We had planned to keep them both originally, but roster construction and our need to bring scoring off the bench lead us in another direction.
Both players are still learning the PG position and clearly have the tools needed to become solid NBA guards.
I am convinced that Grant, with his play on both sides of the ball, will be good enough to be a back-up PG at the very least this season. Jerian has made good progress on year 2.
Cam Payne is a little more of a question mark due to lingering injuries this past season, but he also has more upside.
My goal is to trade one of them for a rotation SF/PF or 2018 picks (protected 1st or seconds)

The New Orleans Pelicans offer JJ Redick a 2y/MLE contract with the 2nd year on PO. He would be the perfect complement to one of the best frontcourts in the league. We can do a lot of damage together in the Western Conference and with Redick on our team the Pelicans will be a legitimate force and one of the most promising teams - but we (and especially our new magician Ettore Messina) need a guy like you JJ! Imagine you, Jrue, DeMarcus and AD together, nightmare for any opponent!
We´d offer him way more but we´re capped out, we would re-negotiate his contract after next season, even if he wouldn´t opt out.
The Pelicans offer Malcolm Delaney a 1-year-minimum contract.
General info needed:
The Nuggets would like to talk with Gary Harris about an extension (RFA after 2017/18). If he'd accept an offer: his contract will be on my books starting next season, right? Is this that poison pill thing?
We´d like to offer him 5y/$75 for his services and the contract starts after the 2017/18 season.

I think we should create a grade-thread for every team (the main one on the t&t board, the teams itself in t&t games). I think every participant wants to talk about their squad more detailed and it could be a little bit confusing if we only have one thread.
And that lottery gmat guys as well as the sweet sixteen "gamer" create 30+ threads a day btw... And our game is the most interesting imo, for non-participants too.

Re: Mock Off-Season: Free Agency Final Day
The Kings would like to offer a two-way contract (2-year) to Chris Boucher out of the University of Oregon. We believe he has a real chance to do some very good things on our team, but would like for him to get a lot of playing time in the G-League so he can develop correctly.
If he does not accept, we would like to offer a two-way contract (2-year) to Amile Jefferson out the University of Duke. We really love his demeanor and think he has a great head on his shoulders. We think he can develop into a good big man in our league and believe the Bighorns will give him a great chance to succeed.
Lastly, if Jefferson does not accept, we offer a two-way (2-year) contract to Troy Caupain out of the University of Cincinnati. We believe he has a lot of potential and could develop into a good combo guard.

Yea Jefferson comes off after this season (he'll be waived) and Noah is out for like half the season with an injury, but will be bought out unless there is a medical retirement or something where he could get taken off the books as a result of his injury.

I'll post this here as well.
Do any teams have interest in Jordan Clarkson, Trevor Booker, or Kosta Koufos? We are not necessarily looking to move them, but we would like to know if there is interest.

Re: Mock Off-Season: Free Agency Final Day
Spurs offer Mbah A Moute the full Room MLE for two years. Player option the second year. Spurs are shocked that a player of this caliber remains unsigned. We feel like you will get quality minutes at the back up 3 and 4 spots and will be an intricate piece of our defensive strategy. Playing for the Spurs will provide you with an opportunity to to win a larger payday next year, a chance at a ring, and at the very least a deep playoff run.
Spurs also remain hopeful to sign Jeff Withey to a one year vet minimum contract. He is a good player and he will provide quality depth.

Re: Mock Off-Season: Free Agency Final Day
The Detroit Pistons have decided that if we're going into the luxury tax for a penny, we might as well go in for a freakin' pound.
• Although we were willing to offer him MUCH more if a S&T deal could've been arranged, the Detroit Pistons reach out directly to J.J. Redick and match the Pelicans' offer for his services — 2 years, full MLE, PO after year one. We then repeat our previous sales pitch, but add "pretty pretty pretty please!' to the end of it. We know this seems like a strange fit because we just extended KCP, but we're confident JJ would thrive in Detroit and that he'd provide the one missing piece to our team — a true knock down shooter. Our goal is to transform our offense, we plan on playing a LOT of minutes with three guards on the court, and his shooting would provide much needed spacing and room for IT to operate. Best of all, he'll be reunited with his first coach, SVG, with whom he still enjoys a close relationship (for instance, SVG was a guest on JJ's podcast this season). Yes, he'd begin games on the bench, but he'd be a "reserve" in name only, just like Andre Iguodala in Golden State. In fact, that's exactly how we envision him — he'd be "our Iggy," the veteran who sacrifices starting for the good of the team so that everyone achieves more. Plus, of course, he'll still be getting starter's minutes in Motown.
• The Pistons also offer a 2 year, BAE contract (with a PO after year 1) to Tyreke Evans. With all the moves we've made this offseason, the biggest risk we've taken has been to essentially turn over the starting SF job to Stanley Johnson. Tyreke is a versatile ball handler, facilitator, and has developed into a reliable outside threat as well; in fact, we're certain he would have landed a much larger contract (and much sooner) in free agency if not for his persistent injury concerns. But there's another looming factor that we hope will lure Tryeke to Detroit — not just the available minutes at backup SF, but potential minutes at backup PG as well if Reggie Jackson was to get traded (which is still a definite possibility come the trade deadline).
• The Pistons offer a standard minimum salary contract to second round draft pick Nigel Williams-Goss. We like Nigel a lot (hence why we traded back into the end of the draft to select him), especially his toughness and intangibles. We look forward to grooming him for the next couple of seasons and developing him as a backup PG.
• The Pistons officially pick up the non-guaranteed contracts of Darrun Hilliard and Michael Gbinije to round out our bench. We appreciate the work they've already put in during their young careers and we look forward to their continued development as part of the Detroit Pistons franchise.
As alluded to above, the Pistons will be keeping their ears to the ground for a trade that could lessen their luxury tax bill. But the fact is, we've got a new arena downtown to fill and a rich owner with deep pockets who wants to win, so we're gonna commit and try to push to contend in the Eastern Conference.
The Cavaliers offer their remaining full MLE to JJ Redick for 4 years with a ETO after the 2nd season.
We believe Redick is the missing piece in putting us over the top in defeating the Warriors. His shooting and improved defensive play will put us on par with the scoring options the Warriors have available to them and we feel Redick is equal to Thompson.
We would also like to bring back Derrick Williams and offer him another vet minimum deal.
We also offer the vet minimum to Matt Barnes to bring him to the dark side!

Some seek fame cause they need validation, some say hating is confused admiration - Nasty, nasty Nas

If you still want to do this deal, I will accept a 2018 2nd for Connaughton.

The Portland Trail Blazers would like to offer their full MLE to JJ Redick for 2 years with a PO after the 1st season.
"JJ, to be frank we're shocked you are still on the market. This is an offer that allows you to stay on the West coast, closer to the home you have made in California, and allows you to re-enter the market next year where you can get full value for your services playing in Terry Stotts system without having to worry about the prospect of bring traded mid-season (since you would have veto powers with a 1 and 1). We've made a number of interesting additions like Pau Gasol & Kenneth Faried and we feel like you would be a great addition to a strong playoff contender in the West."
