We're building for 2020. I don't think the most ready guy is who we need or want in this draft.

Lets be honest here, we cant actually build for a specific year because we have no idea how people will progress, how teams will change, how this team changes, injuries, etc.. You take BPA, unless its at an already loaded position, and I do not think Isaac is anywhere near BPA for me. Too skinny, streaky shot, questionable feel, just cant get on that ship.

Could be very exciting.

I think you have to take him. His shot chart is basically what you want out of today's players, especially guards. Layup or 3. I think if he drops, you have to take him... Unless Jackson is there too.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Been saying this for a few weeks now, Isaac is such a McD pick and matches what the Suns are trying to do.

Three 6'10+ guys who can guard SF to C and cover guards also when required.... can put the ball on the floor and shoot a jumper.

Still hoping for Jackson or Ball.

Great.. so far our priority workouts have been a kentucky guard and a player SF to C like Bender and Chriss, exactly what we needed McD.. and two that are anticipated to be drafted at lower spots than number 4.. if you aren't going to go BPA and you aren't drafting by need then wtf?

My opinion: Jackson probably canceled his workout with the celtics because they are trading with the Kings...If Fultz really did go to sac for a session then I'd say that deal is as good as done.

As for Isaac. I have tried about 5 or 6 times to watch tape of him to try and see if I've been missing what all his hype is about. I don't get it, he looks like Bender 2.0 but worse with less tools. Maybe I'm just a hater.

Tatum came in saturday, Collins is on his way this week. I still find it interesting that Collins name has been brought up when pretty much no one in between fox to collins has been linked to the suns as far as I know.

So you'd prefer he use the internet rankings to determine BPA? I'm confident he's going to choose his version of BPA which almost always gets influenced by things such as need since it's mostly guesswork anyway - no one really knows which of these teenagers will be the best player once they mature, get out on their own and get money.

I still believe Fultz Ball Jackson......from the rumors, we choose either Tatum or Isaac.

Do you have a link for this? Because Gambo hasn't said anything about it on Twitter.

And nobody else has reported this either. I would assume that many people would be reporting it if it was true or even had legs.

I'm sure you can listen to the show's podcast. It was 2-4 minutes past 5pm pacific when he said his workout was cancelled and Collins had a workout tomorrow.

Sorry JMac, but you misunderstood Gambo.

Gambo didn't say that Jackson has cancelled his workout. He was talking abou Fox, who indeed cancelled his workout with us last week.

We have scheduled a workout with Jackson this Wednesday and it hasn't been cancelled yet.

Why do people underestimate Tatum?

Whatever team snags Tatum will be the draft winner.

Maybe its a good thing we fell in the lottery based on these polls.

TEAM TATUM!

Here are the pics from last year...
Spoiler:
Read on Twitter

Read on Twitter

Also this was posted last year
Gambo gave a ton of information on Chriss today. Sounds like he is ultimately going to be the Suns pick if he is available. Gambo said he has it from a prominent NBA source that the Suns absolutely want Chriss. Said the Suns scouts think he is the biggest risk/reward player in the draft and will either be like Amare or Tyrus Thomas. He then went on to say another team told him that Chriss is more like McDyess and not Amare. I would not be surprised if it was Ainge that told him that. One other team told him they think Chriss has a good shot and is like a Marion type jumper.

Gambo also mentioned that he does not think the Suns will pick Dunn or Bender even if they are available and instead are focused on Jamal Murray, Hield, and Chriss. Starts at the 32:10 mark if anyone wants to listen. http://arizonasports.com/player/?a=322608

Or feel free to take a look at last year's draft thread...

I guess I should say why I like Tatum...but ill let a video do it for me which I'm sure most of you who care have seen a thousand times....

To me he has so much potential. He can do a little bit of everything and plays smart.

I know this is is a dumb thing to say but he resembles KD to me in his playstyle. Obviously hes not as good as the now FMVP.

But if you watch the way he takes his jumpers or takes 1 or two dribbles and slams the ball with ease around two or 3 defenders....

I know the comparison will probably trigger some people but if you watch this video with KD in mind you will see the comparison.

If you guys don't mind if you watch the full video let me know if the KD play style is way off the spectrum or right on. I'm not saying he will be KD but ill be damned if their style isn't pretty much the same.

To me its the same damn thing and I want him baaaaaad.

Philly fan here, kind of surprised to see that the general consensus here is that Jonathan Isaac fits well. Think his biggest qualities on the defensive end are his weakside rim protection and switchability, two qualities that are kind of negated when you play him at the 3. He's not strong enough (yet) to play the 5.
Offensively he's just not quick enough to dribble past wing defenders, if he develops a good shot I can see him punishing closeouts from 4's. So basically I think he'll thrive as a 4 in his first years in the NBA, just like Bender and Chriss.

As a Philly fan I know the consequences of playing talents out of position and with three very talented 4's that might happen. So I think it depends on whether you rank Jonathan Isaac in a different class compared to Josh Jackson, De'Aaron Fox, Dennis Smith and Jayson Tatum. If not, I think these prospects make more sense.

Curious how you guys see this.

Never Isaac. We have a guy that can do everything he can do and better. Most of our board thinks he's the next KG or Giannis thats why they want him so bad. To me he is clearly none of those, not even close.

Tatum is my #2 target behind Fultz. And since Fultz won't be available I'm on the hype train for Tatum. I mentioned the same thing in regards to comparisons of KD. I also don't see a ball stopper at all, I see a crafty 19 year old who is capable of being an isolation scorer. His three point shooting was impressive in that video that was posted a couple of weeks ago. I think he can easily be a very good catch and shoot 3P shooter, which will stretch the floor and make it easier for Bledsoe/Booker to drive.
I think he would fit in flawlessly with the team and I'm very excited because I think he will be our pick.

Alright so the next step is to not talk about Tatum so everyone undervalues him and we draft him.

Everyone shhhhhhhh

Oh man looking at last year's draft thread is hilarious. Cosmo, why did you want Sabonis at #4?
Sabonis put up 40% on FG's this year, and that's with Westbrook gathering most of the defense attention. Happy with how the draft turned out last year, though maybe we should have taken Hield at No 4 and then we could be the ones with Boogie. ;)
