He played his high school ball in Napa.

I didn't know that. Still wouldn't surprise me if the Kings have seen him workout and like him enough to promise.

This is way out there and I think I was one of those guys who brought up unathletic guys with high basketball IQ and great vision and decent shooting and comparing them to Kendall Marshall.

I (fortunately) was wrong about Russell. How close am I with Ball?

Way off. You need to retire that comparison for anyone too, there is only one Kendall Marshall, D'Antoni's Kendall Marshall.

Far from 'unathletic'.

Ball is pretty athletic though. Yeah he's not Fox nor Jackson, but half his made baskets at the rim last year were by dunking.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense for him to shut down workouts with teams above the Kings, though (unless they're trading him for him I guess). Plus the Kings would have to be braindead to target Jackson. Not because he isn't talented, but because they don't have a single PG (young or old) on their roster for next season and next year's draft is dreadful for PGs. A team in their situation would have to believe that Jackson is Kobe reincarnated to pass on a loaded PG class.

If Fultz and Ball are gone at 1 and 2. It's not crazy at all to take Jackson above the rest. Especially considering the Kings don't really have a wing player for the future and Jackson is considered by most to be the consensus 3rd best player in the draft.

I actually think he would be a nice fit next to Hield.

Really think Magic and Rob trying to come out this draft with Ball and Jackson, perhaps at the expense of Russell.

If Lakers draft Ball, is Russell out?

Combined with no top prospects working out for 76ers yet... really think we might be moving him to Philly to team up with his homie Benny Simmons. Makes sense as they are a helluva lot closer to the playoffs being in the East and Russell is much more advanced than any '16 prospect.

That would be even dumber considering Indy has shown no indication of moving PG right now.

Ty, you sure Russ isn't a part of the FO at this point? Sure is spending a lot of time with them.

Seems like it would be pretty cold for Magic to have Russell follow him around like a lapdog to only ship him out in a trade for unproven (in the NBA) rookies. If he was as important and untouchable as we keep hearing, why don't we see Ingram with Magic more?

This is coming from a Fultz guy... why would the Lakers make a promise to a player? They have the second pick and have multiple players still to workout.

Teams with lower picks make promises so that their player doesnt workout and get picked by teams above them. Knicks famously promised Steph Curry with the 8th pick and he shut down all workouts. Warriors picked him anyway with the 7th pick. Some teams make promises to a player so they stay in the draft.

How does it make any sense for the Lakers to promise Josh Jackson and shackle themselves when they already have the 2nd pick and maintain the option to pick him or not, trade the pick or not.

Nah. Just exploring all the possibilities. Who knows?

It seems more likely that Jackson is the pick and D'Lo is the point guard of the future.
