Let's Make a Deal: Thunder Trade Targets

Post#1 » by Andre Roberstan » Tue Jun 13, 2017 5:19 pm

So I figured it was probably about time to make a central repository of names that fit certain criteria—if nothing else, for my own use.

Will be split into several parts as I put them up through the day. Might sticky it just so we have something to work with for the offseason thread.

Trades for now. I might add FA later, maybe players likely to make MLE or vet min.

Difficult to tell without FA. Don't see the point to give up ''assets'' (not that we have a lot) unless we can sign some great free agents and be relevant (won't say contender because there's no way to beat golden state).

I just know I don't want cupcake even for the minimum (he's happy with his new friends and his girlfriend draymond Green)

If we didn't have Westbrook, it would be easier to blow up and rebuild. Since we have westbrook, we have to be somehow relevant. Not the best path but can't see another option :(

This league will be so boring for the next few years OMG. I will probably pay the league pass only for thunder games.

I just want a couple semi entertaining seasons from the team. I have nothing else of interest in the league so I won't be watching a ton else most likely.

Tobias Harris perhaps... :dontknow:
I don't know. Sell SVG that Kanter is a much better player than Aron Baynes (Not that hard)
They are trying to move Jackson and Drummond I think. The team might look different next season.
Kanter might fit on a new look Detroit pretty well.

I think Michigan has a fairly large muslim population as well. Certainly larger than anything in Oklahoma.
Heck give them McDermott back if they want some scoring. We know SVG loves 3pt shooting.

Ah just checked. The community I was thinking of is Dearborn. Just outside metro Detroit.

Trade Kanter for cap space 55 protected 2nd or something. sign a back up PG, draft Ojele or whatever his name is. Hope the players we have get better and Rus is happy with what we have.

A few random names I'd toss out:
Dream - Love, Danny Green, Millsap, Griffin

Probably not happening - Harris, Dudley,

Somewhat realistic - Carroll/CoJo, Clarkson, Jameer Nelson

Anybody got ideas for other criteria I should look for? I'm going to do some with rebounds & rebound %, assists and AST%, maybe some big man only stuff, a bit with defense if I can figure out a way to filter it.

Positive DBPM, at least 120 3PA, at least .35 3P%:

If Hayward goes to the Celtics, surely Crowder would become extremely valuable.

Draw rate for guards. We need a guy who can create some offense for himself and others. Tyler Johnson is a name that really stands out to me, but I don't know how we would get him. He's a good shooter, draws fouls, and can create for others. Plus his low cap hit next year would keep us out of the tax.

He is also a pretty decent defender. Getting him would be awesome.
