Right. So, Leites/old Anderson/Dolloway is certainly better than that list, for sure. Bisping was still able to avoid the top 5 guys in that division though on his way to his shot which was my main point.
Bisping has always fought good fighters, he's just historically usually lost to the top guys until he flattened Rockhold.

He was destroyed by Holloway, he was destroyed by the other guy in the conversation - Edgar. And he was destroyed by Aldo before that. You can't just beat mid-tier guys and lose to the good guys and get a title shot, well unless you're Bisping I guess.
You beat Artem, you're an auto-contender!

Agree. I like Cub, but he shouldn't be next. I'd like to see Holloway vs Edgar and Aldo vs Cub. The latter match up allows Aldo(some say he should get rematch with Max) to keep his name in contention if he can beat Cub again, who is currently 10-2 since 2012. And it gives Cub a chance to keep his name at the top, if he can avenge a loss to Aldo.

Re: UFC 212 (6/3): Jose Aldo vs Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway
I guessed earlier that Aldo had a leg injury, seems to be the case.
“Every fight the athlete enters he has some kind of injury, and Aldo is no different, he has his,” Pederneiras told Fox Fight Club. “Many people asked why he didn’t kicked. Aldo has a leg injury, so he couldn’t throw kicks or run during his entire camp.
“That doesn’t take anything away from Max Holloway’s win, we don’t want to say that,” he continued. “It was even funny because we would go back (outside the Octagon) between rounds the crowd said ‘tell him to kick,’ but we, the cornermen, were the only aware of it. We avoided the kicks because of this injury. We were afraid it would strain his muscle.”
“He spent his entire camp working on his boxing and his takedown, his ground game,” Pederneiras said. “Since Aldo felt well standing in the first rounds, he decided not to go for takedowns, but (Holloway’s) punch landed and everything changed.

Come on man. If Aldo had an injury of ANY type, he'd pull out of the fight. He's pulled out of red panty night twice, stating he wasn't healthy enough to go.
Dude is certainly the GOAT excuse maker at this point.

Except a bunch of people in this thread agreed that Aldo was suffering an injury and predicted exactly that the injury would be revealed soon after the fight. How could we have known if it wasn't reflected in how he fought?
EDIT:
Headliner wrote:I dont agree with the theory that Aldo wasn't able to throw a single leg kick because of being clipped over and over. He dominated the first round and threw no kicks, there was no fear of being clipped there.
Other fighters, inferior to past Aldo were landing 20 + leg kicks on Max, and they are far inferior leg strikers than Aldo is.
It had to be something else.
cowboyronnie wrote:Man, I agree that Aldo must have had an injury. He was dominating those first couple rounds, he looked awesome, there was no reason he could not have added kicks to the mix if he had wanted. I think we will hear a back story to that.
So it's not just some ad hoc excuse.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Re: UFC 212 (6/3): Jose Aldo vs Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway
I mentioned as, about his cardio. I know Aldo is known for poor cardio, but he was open mouthed and taking very large breaths at the end of the first round. That is a clear indicator of a cardio problem, because their was no scrambles, he took little damage and he was landing most of his shots without exerting himself much.
When you couple in that Aldo's best weapon is his kicks, which would have been valuable against Max, who has a strong weakness for leg kicks, and that Aldo's cardio was none existent, it's a strong indicator of a leg injury.
I agree with the fact that Aldo pulls out all the time, but that also doesn't mean that he didn't this time. Maybe Connors "Pullout artist" campaign got to Aldo psychologically, and pushed him to fight when he otherwise wouldn't have. Maybe he didn't respect Max like he should have and thought he could have beat him regardless of the kicks or not. Either way, we won't know, and I don't think it takes anything away from Max, but it does make a lot of sense, and something that many people were speculating had happened.

Well either way, Aldo will cut through the rest of that division like cheese I'm guessing. They aren't going to make him beat up Edgar again but Cub should be easy pickings then maybe we can see a rematch.
My money is on Max doing the same thing again.

Well Max got lucky, so I'm sure he'll fight him any time, any place.
