this season he did in comparison yet he'd still be way better than what we have presently.

Previous seasons he was really good.

Mozgov is better this season or any other. You seem to be evaluating players by stereotypes and think just because Drummond is a bad free throw shooter, he also has other attributes like a DeAndre Jordan type player.

He isn't.

no i'm basing on the fact that he averaged 1.4 BPG and 1.5SPG. Also the season before that 1.9BPG.

This season was by far and away his worst season.

The only thing that would be rubbish is the money he is on, 20 something million for his offensive output is rubbish.

XXI century.
People still judge level of defense by STL and BLK...

Even Van Gundy couldn't get him to play good defense. At that salary cap hell contract, no way. Too much of an empty stat player.

Im convinced anyone willing to trade for Drummond and eat the remainder of his 100M for the next 4 years has not watched him for more than 1 good game that he probably had vs the Lakers

I wanted him several years ago when he was approaching RFA status.

Now, he's just overpaid and the exact opposite of the direction the NBA is going. Sit pat on Moz and Zubac, they're likely going to be more productive, for less money.

No. The NBA has always been about not wanting bad defensive bigs. That's nothing new. If his defense was like Ben Wallace and his offense like DeAndre Jordan (PnR big, putbacks), that's still a sought after player in the league. I guess this player would essentially be Tyson Chandler.

....what? Tyson Chandler was known for his defense.

And I think I speak for all eras past, present, and future, that they would obviously take a big that plays like Ben Wallace on defense, and DeAndre Jordan on offense. That's a borderline ATG.

Drummond's an elite rebounder and can produce on offense. Still a solid player. He just doesn't fit here and his contract makes him undesirable. We have too much upside to take him on.

Tyson Chandler was what I meant about a defensive/PnR center. I wouldn't call that an ATG or borderline ATG. Prime Dwight Howard was no such thing.

Drummond can run, which fits us, rebound, which we need and costs what Deng and Moz cost. But I think in the end it'll be easier to move those two than Andre.

Too bad, he looked like he was going to be a great one. Watch himn end up in SA somehow and Pop teaches him how to play

Its not that Drummond is totally void of value on the court but its hard to field a great team with him making 25% of the cap. As for acquiring him then trying to unload him to another team, I am sure Detroit will have already exhausted all options with teams that might be interested.

Hell to the no....game is changing, and centers that don't have any moves around basket have no use in the NBA
