Guess I'll take the much-too-late fall here.

Sigh... hate listening to buck go on and on about how we have the bats to get back into it. This game was over at 4-0 in the third. Score first or mail it in. That's this years team.

The Pillar at leadoff experiment needs to end post haste.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Against RHP, at the very least. His OBP against lefties is decent enough, particularly this year; against righties, it absolutely should be Carrera, whose walk rate has improved the past two seasons and is a vastly superior hitter against RHP overall.

Which season was that? Can't remember if it was one of the nightmare seasons that turned into dream seasons, or the one that was just straight-up a nightmare.

For some reason I remembered it as the year previous. But sure enough, it was June 29, 2015:

We then went on a really bad run for a couple weeks (which is probably why I thought it was 2014), so it felt like Farrell4eva had not pleased the gods and I abandoned the idea. But we were 52-39 from the day forward, so...

Wish this team wasn't in the AL East.

Rays to the Jays are the Bobcats to the Raptors.

Man the Rogers Center looked empty last night.

Yankees are up by 8.5 games. Need to leap frog a bunch of teams for the wild card spot. Players injured. Travis done for the season. Starting pitching woes continue. Bullpen being taxed and used way too often. BLOW IT UP!

Trade Bautista, Estrada, Happ, Liriano, 2Lo and Martin for prospects. Start the rebuilt. It was fun while it lasted.

Pillar has been horrible. Not the same after that incident and ban of 2 games. I'd take him out of that leadoff role, and put Bautista there.

Donaldson
Morales
Smoak
Tulo
Carrera
Pillar

Carrera has a 380 OBP vs RHP, higher than JB, he should lead off.

So has The Estrada smoke and mirrors show ended? Has he been figured out?

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Estrada was really good a few weeks ago, IIRC. Hard to believe it would take 2.5 years to figure him out. My guess is his control is off and he's slumping right now.

That said, I agree we should sell now.

At least Pearce is going to be back this weekend I guess. But, damn, the amount of injuries this season has been unreal.

Pompey has got to feel incredibly unlucky. If healthy he'd probably have 100-150 plate appearances with the big club already.
