After reading what Larry Brown had to say about Simmons he's sounding similar to Billy Owens to me. Crossing my fingers for Sixers fans he's a rich man's Billy Owens as that could be a great player.

Your first mistake was listening to Larry Brown. He has no clue what Simmons has been doing in practice. Your second mistake is taking what he has to say as gospel. If we were in 1998 you might have a case. The game has passed him by.

Even if he's right and Simmons becomes the player I referred to then you guys are in great shape heading into next season and the Sixers will be one of the most exciting teams in the league.

TBH, as a GSW fan, if everything goes just right for the Sixers (good draft, no major future injuries, continued player development, a few more smart deals to balance the roster) then I wouldn't be surprised to see you guys in the Finals in a few seasons.

We already know how good Embiid can be and he scares me as an opposing fan thinking of how to match up with him. Then if Simmons is as good as hoped that makes them really tough to beat.

My fingers are crossed the 76ers rise to prominence and give the NBA a new face to compete in the upper echelon.

I followed Golden State quite closely as my "2nd team" as they were in the West and Andrew Bogut showed up there from the Bucks... when the Warriors were still horribly average and Steph Curry was this perpetually injured guy that wasn't a star yet.

I specifically remember coming up to them making the playoffs for the first time in ages, Curry had the 54 point game against New York and that was the first time people thought wow... this kid can play and again in that playoff series against Denver and San Antonio he shone out and was almost unstoppable. I remember thinking to myself without any doubt that the Warriors would eventually win a Championship if Curry could stay fit.

The only other time I got the same feeling was watching Joel Embiid during the month of January just gone. He literally looked like he could do whatever he wanted on the court and nobody was going to stop him. I got the exact same feeling that Philly could win a ring with this guy that I got with Golden State 5 years ago. It's just going to take him being healthy and surrounding him with the right teammates... and I honestly truly believe Philly can win a ring 4-5 years from now.

Simmons still can't shoot. Embiid made all 3 of his shots. Meanwhile Simmons only made 1 of his 3 shots.

Simmons is in flip flops, that's why he's shooting flat footed like that. Lol. He likely can't shoot, but you're nit picking too much.

True but I bet Embiid can hit shots flat footed in flip flops. Simmons is going to run out of excuses soon because he will be real basketball sneakers in real games. If he's clanking shots then he will be out of excuses.

What excuses? Nobody expects Ben Simmons to be a shooter. Nor does he need to be.

No one learning how to shoot should be compared to Embiid, who is a natural gifted shooter.

Simmons probably isn't going to ever shoot as well as Embiid does now, and he doesn't need to be a star.

No Embiid is not a natural shooter. He learned by watching white people shoot on YouTube

So Simmons isn't going to be a good shooter, but are we really acting like he's giving anything more than 5% effort in that video.

Yes, simmons doesn't need to be a shooter, if he cannot shoot he still can be a star.

  My goodness talk about micro analysing. Simmons wasn't even dressed for basketball and wasn't even practising in these highlights.

In fact here is the over 1 minute extended video of the same video... again where Simmons is not even trying and where Simmons hit 5 shots... whilst Joel only hits 7 of his shots whilst actually being properly dressed and looking like he is actually practising.

Good news is as you can see in the video below Ben is 1/1 when shooting the quadruple pump fake with the ball being brought up from his ankles before hitting nothing but net. Looks like a totally legit practice session

It's getting to a point now where his agent will be onto Ben telling him to only touch a basketball during official practises just in case a journo happens to pull out their mobile and post video of him mucking around... and used as a sports science breakdown of his NBA shot.

Richaun Holmes has an interview with Alex Kennedy from Hoopshype where apparently he raves about Simmons ability; interview will be released sometime this weekend apparently and will obviously be worth listening to.

It's common knowledge among Sixers players , coaches and management that Ben is noticeably their best player - even Embid said it.

Fans will obviously wait till they see it for them selves.

So it is obvious that simmons is the best sixers player, even better than embiid? a guy who still hasn't played any mInute? yeah I see no bias at all here.

Well Embiid said it himself last year. And I heard Bob Cooney say today that a player said Simmons is unreal in practice.

Simmons is a beast, but I don't have any expectations of him being better than Embiid. Ultimately, even if they were equal skill for skill, Embiid is much bigger, stronger and longer. That gives him a huge starting advantage.

What a great time to be a Sixer fan that we could potentially be adding a perfectly fitting guard in Fultz that is the number 1 pick who is coming into a team where he is the 3rd most talented player on the roster.

How often are first overall picks the second most talented player on the roster, let alone 3rd, especially when they are all still on their rookie contracts?

Watching Simmons' passing highlights, it's interesting when other players that don't necessarily need to pass to him on the break, pass to him just because they know he's going to create a better look.
